I am a poet and spoken word artist who uses the art of poetry to enlighten and empower Black/African people. I have almost 10 years of experience in performing spoken word and I have been invited to share my spoken word over 100 times in dozens of cities across the east coast. My poetry is primarily focused on revealing truths about racism while empowering people of African descent. In my spoken word performances you will get a powerful mix of history, culture, empowerment and inspiration in poetic form. You are welcome to read my reviews as well as browse my website to get a feel of my work. Thank you for your consideration.
We hired Rhonda for our corporate Juneteenth event, and her communication was amazing throughout the process. Her confidence and radiance shined bright, and our colleagues are still raving about her performance! We would love to have her back for future events!
A riveting performance is a performance that is so interesting or exciting that it holds the audience's attention completely. That's exactly what Rhonda Sekhmet Ra delivered at the 2024 Duplin County MLK, Jr. Celebration. The power of her words and delivery commanded the audience's attention. Her engrossing performance absorbed the entire audience's attention. Everything about her was captivating. From her ensemble, attire, and appearance to her demeanor, manor, and air; everything and every act constituted that of a revolutionary spoken word artist performing was with precision accuracy. Her performance was spellbound while intransitively informing the audience of the problems affecting African Americans and other racial and ethnic minorities.
Hearing, feeling, and being moved to action is what happens after exposure to the words from Poetic Empress Rhonda Sekhmet-Ra. Her words are a testament to her connection to the ancestral realm. She is a powerhouse, and dynamic speaker. Her poetry is inviting, truth telling, and inspiring. She writes from her soul, and her ability to connect with the audience is amazing. When she speaks, you are moved to silence, and want to partake in absorbing all that she has to say. Rhonda is the real deal, and she unapologetically speaks the truth.
