I’m Rick. I am a Disney artist that also draws at gigs all over the country. I use traditional medium, but mostly draw you digitally these days so that you get a product that has never been touched. Whether it’s a special gift for a loved one you want drawn or a family pet or whole group you want drawn together for a virtual party I can do this at an affordable cost with high quality work. Was initially responsive, then when I checked in closer to my wedding he stopped answering. Tried multiple times without any response from him, and FYI Gigsalad shows when you’ve seen the message so it’s not like you didn’t get it. He decided not to respond so I fired him and got my money back. I’m glad I did because we found someone who was much better at our event AND charged less! Fate stepped in so I guess I should thank you for being unprofessional. Thanks but no thanks.

it Is very unfortunate that this turned out this way. I’m normally very responsive to my new friends/clients. You invited me in March of 2018 to your event in May of 2019. Over a year away, which I was happy to do. You messaged me again in March of this year to check on things. I was working a Texas state fair at the time of your message. Unfortunately, in an attempt to appear more professional, I tend to have my phone on silence during fairs so that I can stay attentive to my now Texas friends. Your event was a month away and I was planning on messaging you to get an update on things. After I traveled back to Florida, where I am now living, i got a message of your disappointed cancellation. It was then that I noticed the message from a few days earlier before the cancellation. I was also disappointed. Would’ve loved to draw for you, but I’m glad you were able to find someone else. And congratulations again on your celebration.
We hired Rick to draw caricatures for our guests (and us) during our cocktail hour. He was amazing! Everyone LOVED their drawing and raved about how neat it was to have a caricature artist during our wedding. We had several entertainers as it was a circus themed wedding, but Rick was definitely one that people appreciated the most. Not only did he do a great job for our guests - but he stayed PAST the time we had hired him for, without complaint, so that he could Draw my new Husband and I, after we got back from taking photos. Each drawing took about 5-10 minutes so MANY of our guests were able to get a drawing! AND the quality was fabulous!! Everyone really loved the way their caricature came out. I would absolutely hire Rick for another event, he is a class act.

Caricaturing can be very entertaining to watch and potentially be the hit of the party. It also allows everyone to bring home a fun souvenir from the event. I do not use pencil when I draw which creates a bit of magic seeing someone come to life from a blank page.
Rick Barrett graduated from the Art Institute with a Bachelors degree in media arts and animation focusing on anatomy and sequential arts. He's since then been involved with Marvel Comics, DC, Zondervan, and CMX through the company Art Monkey Studios where he lettered for comics and manga. While lettering he was also the lead artist for High Tech Travel portal and then found his way into the caricature world at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay. He's since worked with Fassen Arts at Universal Studios, Disney world, Stanton Portraits from Myrtle Beach SC. He currently works at Disney World and multiple festivals and fairs throughout the country. Whatever the event, his experience and rapport with the client creates an amazing experience and a memorable attraction for all.
I typically use permanent marker for big events but can also water color the drawings if desired. Each drawing takes only 3-5 minutes. If you would prefer digital colored drawings I draw on my surface pro 3 which is a very unique addition to an event. With the digital format it also allows me to walk around and draw at the same time of wanted.
