Right Now Rouge incorporates a variety of props and unique costuming, while always exuding a sexual, erotic piece. During body paint performances, audience members will be hypnotized by the sensual movement combined with sultry brush strokes.
As acts change, Rouge portrays a variety of characters, ranging from Queen of the Mardi Gras, and a wicked demon with devilish wings, to a sword wielding warrior who can also deep throat beer bottles.
Each act is 4-5 minutes in length, and performed to popular Top 40 music.
Right Now Rouge is a costume designer, artist, and the resident burlesque dancer of The Sweet Spot. She has background in contemporary ballet and interpretive dance, and is a graduate of New York City's Brown Girls Burlesque, under the tutelage of famed dancer, Chicava Honeychild..
Starting out as a body paint model for the show in 2013, Rouge gradually worked her way onto different stages, performing for Bing Bamboo Burlesque and Pop Culture Provocateurs. In October 2016 officially joined the stage with fellow Sweet Spot artists.
Her acts feature creative, alluring sexual provocative stories that are expressed through her movement, elaborate costuming, and specifically engineered music. One of her most suggestive acts, "Sail", wowed audiences as she fused yoga with kink, and devoured honey from her own body.
Off stage, Right Now Rouge is vocal about representation for women of color on stage, as well throughout social media, and in public forums. She speaks dearly on battling patriarchy, misogynoir, and sexual harassment, while defying stereotypes of what it means for black women to express her sexuality. One of her most famed stands for women was present during her participation in 2017's Topless Day Parade, an event where she spoke to an audience of women and men who gathered to support the equal topless rights for women in New York State.
When she is not marching the streets, Rouge works on, "Live Nude Art Series", a collection of snippets and full length sensual body paint videos. Each video shares a different picture, song, and technique, but serve to teach individuals how to allow their bodies freedom from inhibitions and shame.
When she is not marching the streets, Rouge spends a great deal of time designing glamorous handmade costumes and pasties for performers and guests.
