I am a jazz pianist. I live in NJ but do some traveling. Some of my colleages have been, Bobby Hackett,Clark Terry, Joe Venuti, Bucky Pizzarelli,duets with Dick Hyman, Derek Smith,Marian Mc Partland, and TV star, Florence Henderson.I play a lot of gigs in the solo mode but I do front my own band as well. Have appeared at music festivals, recorded 11 albums, and have been an accompanist on other albums. My forte is concert work. I have composed 3 musicals, and written numerous material for other projects as well. I have been an educator exposing jazz from 1st. grade up to and including college age students. I do some singing. I have performed in Europe, and the Caribbean Islands on cruise ships.
Spent the evening at the Rutgers Club with Rio and his trio. Great jazz improv skills and very well-balanced with what the crowd wanted to hear. He and his group were very engaging, requesting that requests were made and vvisiing the tables with the patrons. Great fit for a 'dinner and jazz' format but I could also see how he would be a ringer for a cocktail party corporate event or larger concert venue; excellent stage presence.
My friends and I enjoyed the show last night. The music was impeccable and the warmth of your presence was a wonderful touch. Thanks so much.
