Rita D’LaVane is the 2019 Duchess of Funk of the What The Funk?! All BIPoC Burlesque Festival, and the winner of May Hemmer Tea Party award of the Discordia Days Burlesque Festival. They are the co founder of the Savannah Sweet Tease Burlesque Revue and the executive producer of the Hostess City Hoedown. Rita was also the 2023 Headliner of the Dragon Con burlesque revue.

So I stumbled upon the Teases while checking Facebook one day and thought, "Hmm, I DO love all things pin up and retro, maybe I should like their page." Well I did and shortly after they put together their first show. The wife and I purchased tickets and went, not knowing quite what to expect and rather unsure of whether it would be money wasted.
IT WAS DEFINITELY NOT!!!
The show the girls put together was without a doubt the MOST enjoyable, wholesome (yes, wholesome), and underpriced evening of entertainment we have EVER had in Savannah. We were 100% hooked.
Later this year, they put on a calendar show at one of our favorite local bars (The Jinx) and of course, we were there well before showtime. I really wondered what they would be doing to keep things "fresh". Again, they did not disappoint. The calendar theme was awesome and the crowd was really into it. They even had some "gentleman teases" so there was eye candy for all to enjoy!
Aside from the gorgeous girls, there is much more going on with SST. It is very clear the amount of work they put into creating a show that will be unique and enjoyable for all. Their dedication to authenticity and history is great and the performers (of all varieties and delightful sizes) really exude an air of confidence and fun.
Oh, did I mention that? It's fun...no, like really freakin' FUN! My wife and I have attended both shows and agree, we've never laughed so hard and been so on the edge of our seats. If you don't enjoy a SST show, check your pulse.
Bottom Line - Skip the crappy hollywood reboot for date night...spend half the cash and have 100X the fun with the Savannah Sweet Tease!
