Robert Ball - Soul/Jazz Vocalist

Robert is a charismatic and exceptional live performer in the tradition of the great R&B/Soul crooners of our time such as Marvin Gaye, Smokey Robinson, Luther Vandross blended with their contemporaries John Legend, Gregory Porter and D'Angelo. He has received accolades from industry giants such as former editor of Vogue Andre Leon Talley, Carson Kressley and Neo-Soul Singer Tweet.

Roberts range both in voice and genre make it easy for him to adapt to any environment and event. From a quiet and intimate event with just an acoustic guitar and his smooth melodic vocals crooning his way through classic jazz standards and the American song book. All the way to an engaging and rousing concert style performance with full band and background singers singing our favorite R&B/Soul, Pop and Rock favorites.

Performing his successful show of r&b/pop classics and original music in over 55 countries around the world, Robert is ready to bring his show to Your Event. He is a versatile performer who can offer shows in a trio, full band or track format.

Robert Ball; from Toronto, Canada Robert went to 'Fame' - like 'Claude Watson Arts Program' and later studied at Humber College. He has traveled to over 55 countries as an artist as well as a featured vocalist and headliner with Royal Caribbean International. Robert has been a part of various Musical Theater readings and workshops working with Tony Winner Lillias White & Grammy Nominee Carol Woods naming a few. He has sung background for Kim Burrell and opened for artists Mary Mary, Cece Winans, Karen Clark Sheard, Keshia Chante(106&Park) and many more. Robert's original music has been on hit TV show 'Degrassi' and has played on radio in Europe, Canada & the US, most recently he has been touring his new EP "Need" & single "Breathe" hitting major events such as Brooklyn Pride, DC pride and Jamaica Pride. Also making appearances on major Canadian TV Chanel's CTV & CP24.

Offering various packages here is a break down of the tech requirements for each package style;

Tracked Show (1 song - 30 min set generally):
DJ system with chord/plug in for iPod/iPad/iPhone and or Computer with USB drive.

PA - House speakers at least two depending on venue size and event
1 stage monitor
1 microphone
1 microphone stand

Acoustic Show (Guitar and Voice or Piano and Voice or Upright Bass and Voice):
PA - House speakers at least two depending on venue size and event
1 stage monitors
1 microphone (in some cases 2nd microphone)
1 microphone stand
(Musician will bring amp and instrument)
(In New York city we can hire and provide all our own PA and sound as an option)

Trio (acoustic or electric):

PA - House speakers at least two depending on venue size and event
1 microphone (in some cases 2nd microphone)
1 microphone stand
1 stage monitor
(Musicians will bring amps and instruments - electric; piano/keyboard, bass, drums - traditional jazz trio set up)
(An acoustic trio would consist of upright bass, percussion and guitar - for smaller venues no additional mic-ing/amps required - larger venues 2 extra microphones and plug ins needed to amplify instruments)

Band (Piano, Drums, Bass, Guitar):
(In Toronto we can hire and provide all our own PA and sound as an option)
2 front of stage monitors
PA - house speakers at least two depending on space size and event.
Stage area at least between 4 feet by 6 feet - ideally 6 by 10
Sound engineer to set up, break down and run sound during event.
3 additional monitors for back of stage (for piano, drums and bass/guitar)
All appropriate chords and plug ins for equipment and musicians amps and instruments.
