Robert tries to give a little extra punch to his acoustic show by adding a pre-recorded bass track, and sometimes some harmony vocals. The sound system is of good quality and is large enough to cover a sizeable room. If no lights are provided by the venue, Robert can bring a lighting system, and there is always an extra microphone for a master of ceremonies to speak.
Robert has been performing on the semi professional level since 1972, when at eighteen he lied about his age so he could perform with a friend at a club in Pennsylvania. The friend got drunk and Robert finished the show as a solo act. He learned a valuable lesson that night. Performance and alcohol don't mix. Robert doesn't drink or do drugs. He values his own reputation too much, as well as that of the employer, to jeopardize it in such a way. Robert has always been a singer as well as being multi-instrumental. He has worked as a drummer, bassist, guitarist and keyboardist in various bands of all styles over the years. Recently he has decided it would be nice to return to the simplicity of an acoustic guitar and a solo act. His repertoire includes classic rock and country songs he has performed over the years.
Robert uses two different sound systems, depending on the size of the venue. One is very small, suitable for a house party, the other is much more powerful, suitable for larger rooms or outdoor events. Both systems incorporate class D amplifiers, which use very little power. The lighting system is LED and also uses very little power. Robert plays a Taylor T5Z acoustic/electric guitar or an Epiphone Hummingbird acoustic/electric guitar and Sennheiser and Shure microphones.
