The band "Rockslide" is made up of local musicians from Middle Tennessee's 615. The group was formed with two goals in mind, to play great songs that all will know and love, and to play those songs with the energy and passion that will make watching and listening to a Rockslide performance an unforgettable experience. Jeff Woods-Singer
Soulful singer/songwriter who has a passion for creating and performing great music. Jeff began his musical journey at a very early age. Jeff's powerful vocals are rooted out of blues, gospel, soul, and rock. With each performance given, his soul and heart is heard. The songs that Jeff has written are reflections of his real life experiences. There is a true honesty heard for what Christ has done for Jeff through his music. He has been called a storyteller for the soul. The lyrics he sings are the recipe for truth and his melodys are the driving force to obtain spiritual satisfaction.
Tim Baird-Drummer
Bringing the two and four is drummer Tim Baird. Playing since he was 10 years old, growing up to 50s and 60s and 70s music because it was the only thing in the house to listen too. Learned real quick having a solid rhythm section was must in any band. With so many influences able to bring the drive to many styles of music that Rockslide presents.
Wes Merrill-Lead Guitar
Wesley Merrill grew up in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Oregon before moving to middle Tennessee. Living so near to "Music City," it was here he picked up learning the guitar and has been playing ever since. He draws influence from skilled guitarists like J Mascis, Slash, B.B. King and Clapton, among other greats that all guitarists are inspired by. He has always loved classic rock and blues, and his playing style certainly reflects that.
Bruce Duncan-Guitar
Growing up in Austin, Texas in the 60's, Bruce began playing guitar at the age 10. Heavily influenced by guitar greats Hendrix, Clapton, Trower, SRV, Eric Johnson, David Grissom, and Doyle Bramhall II, Texas Road House Rock and Blues remains a core music focus.
Steve Frey-Guitar
Steve Frey is a Nashville, TN based guitarist/ guitar instructor. Steve relocated to Nashville from Ohio in 1999, and since has worked with dozens of artists, including:
Country supergroup Blackhawk, Rebecca Lynn Howard, 2005 Nashville Star Winner Erika Jo, and country artist and hit songwriter David Lee Murphy. Steve is currently working with Memphis singer- songwriter Andy Childs, Eagles Tribute 7 Bridges, Rod Stewart Tribute featuring Rob Caudill, and HLN’s very own Robin Meade, host of the T.V. show Morning Express with Robin Meade.
He and his family reside in Murfreesboro, TN and while not on the road spends his time teaching guitar in Murfreesboro and Franklin, TN.
Don Hermes-Bass
Self taught, started at age 18, played professionally while in college in Tucson, AZ, and New York @ CBGB's with Connie and the Linquistics. I enjoy all types of music, major infuences are John Entwistle/Stanley Clarke/Charles Mingus/John Pattitucci/Jaco/Victor Wooten/Marcus Miller/Victor Bailey/Stephen Lassard or any bass pioneer from the '70's thru today.
