Roma Ransom provides eclectic world music that focuses on the event that they are performing at. We can play music at any sort of event ranging from weddings to corporate events. We also write music and compose music for anyone looking for music for jingles or animation. We also are capable of being hired on for recording session musicians. We are excellent sight readers and improvisers so we can take on any challenge sent our way.
Gordon and Grace (Roma Ransom) played for our wedding on 6-17-23 and I cannot express how much their music set the vibe for our wedding and reception. We first heard Roma Ransom play at the farmers market festival two years before the wedding in Woodland Park, Colorado - and right then and there we knew we had to have them as the band at our wedding.
Gordon and Grace worked and communicated with use for 2 years before the big day - they are both very personable, polite, professional and very friendly.
They are both very talent: Grace is amazing on her violin and I cannot count how many instruments Gordon plays (but I believe guitar is his favorite). Their music is unique, chill and whimsical - I think of it as a cross between Indie, folk, old-time traditional ballad and bohemian.
When I (the bride) walked down the aisle they played a duet (violin and guitar) that captured the feeling and ambience that we were expecting - I got teary eyed. The rest of the reception was a faster tempo that everyone had a fun time mingling and dancing.
I highly recommend Roma Ransom for any event!
Thank you again Gordon and Grace for be a huge part of our dream wedding!

Roma Ransom was perfect for dinner service in our restaurant Sacred Grounds Cafe and Wine bar. Romantic gypsy inspired music was performed beautifully by a string duo of guitar and violin. Bravo! We would recommend them to everybody and we booked them as many nights as they want.

Great music should do three things- connect you to the past, inspire you to envision the future, and find you wholly in the present moment. Roma Ransom does all three. Their repetoire includes old-time traditional ballads like Shady Grove and (link hidden)mes Infirmary as well as sounds from European cultures, mainly that of Romania (hence the duo's name) yet the music of Roma Ransom is distinctly their own. The sultry sweetness of Grace Easley on vocals paired with the couples' vast instrumental array combine to form a style that can fit the mood for any setting. The couple was trained classically from an early age, (Grace on violin/viola, Gordon on guitar) making them an excellent choice for weddings and banquets in addition to their usual venues, namely restaurants, coffee shops and pubs.
Roma Ransom formed 6 years ago when two lovebirds, Gordon
and Grace, started busking in downtown Springfield Missouri. The
couple quickly took their music on the road, performing as far as
the West Coast, up to Northern Minnesota, all the way down to
New Mexico, and everywhere in-between. On their journey they
landed steady gigs and stayed busy by performing for private
parties and events in their off time.
Now Roma Ransom is based out of Colorado Springs where they
teach private music lessons, play gigs at local venues, and perform
for private events! With constant positive feed-back, Gordon and
Grace, continue to do what they love.
Roma Ransom’s influences range from Django Reindhardt to
Woody Guthrie. Roma Ransom loves to play music inspired from
ancient tunes selected from different cultures of the world. Roma
Ransom performs music of the world. The best way to understand
their unique style is to listen to a track.
Places you may have seen Roma Ransom include, but are not
limited to; Gem of India, Little Nepal, The Smiling Moon, French
Creperie The Triple Nickel, Lofty’s, The Coffee Exchange, Urban
Steam, the Tri-Lakes Center for the Arts, ViewPointe Assisted
Living Center, Meadow Muffins, Poor Richard’s/Rico’s, The
Antler’s Hilton, as well as non-profit events such as the Relay for
Life.
