I'm a bagpiper with over 50 years of playing experience and almost 30 years of teaching experience. I've competed with a world championship winning pipe band on numerous occasions and have performed at countless weddings, funerals and opening ceremonies throughout my piping career. I offer performance and tuition services and I also operate Brown Bagpipe Supply, a home based pipe band supply shop. I look forward to playing at your special event. Cheers, Ross
Ross did a great job playing Amazing Grace while my wife was being carried out of the church. It could not have gone any better!
Ross supported a back yard wedding and made the event so special. He quickly and easily integrated with the day-of coordinator and officiant to make cueing songs seamless and perfect. As our family had history in the pipes and drums, his contributions were very meaningful.
Response from Ross Brown:
Hi Chris, I'm glad everything worked out, despite the rain. Thanks for the nice review and I wish you all the best. Cheers, Ross
Ross played Amazing Grace and followed with a lament and a bright tune to finish. Everyone had tears in their eyes and loved the performance. Thank you Ross!
It is very embarrassing to have told friends and family that you have hired a piper for your wedding ceremony and the piper doesn’t show because he could not find your event on a map! We were thoroughly disappointed that Ross couldn’t make it. After phoning days in advance to confirm our special occasion Ross phoned within an hour of our event. As a wedding is a special occasion I had my cell phone switched off and put away. Gig Salad is not a reliable method of contracting artists for gigs since they really don’t secure directions for their artists.
I would not recommend this platform in the future to anybody.
I am sure that Ross Brown is a fine piper and musician, an honest fellow, however Gig salad could do a better job of securing vital information for him.
It appears to be disjointed in its support of the musician and client relationship.
I have kindly received a refund from Ross.
It has been months and months in advance that I was looking forward to this integral part of our wedding. I am SADLY disappointed.

Ross is talented, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with! I will definitely book his services again.
Response from Ross Brown:
Hi Betty, thanks for the nice review and thanks again for all your help. Cheers, Ross
Thanks again Ross, you made our day with your excellent playing!!!
Response from Ross Brown:
Hi Jason, I'm glad the golf tournament went went and that the thunderstorms held off for us. Cheers, Ross
We had Ross for a Christmas cocktail party last weekend as a surprise for my guests . Thoroughly recommend.
Ross went above and beyond. Timely, prepared and talented as expected but he also arranged a drummer which blew the experience out of the park. All who attended our wedding said Ross’s accompaniment delivered the kilted procession they were witnessing. Thanks Ross

Response from Ross Brown:
Hi Juli and Alastair, your wedding service was great and I'm glad I was able attend. Wishing you both all the best. Ross
Ross played through a torrential downpour without missing a beat. My wife (60 Birthday) was over the top with emotion. The guests were dancing in the rain. All i can say is FANTASTIC. I would recommend Ross to anyone planning an event or just to sit back and listen.
Ross Brown was excellent - great communication, friendly, was at the event early, all went well. Many people commented on his playing of Amazing Grace, it was truly wonderful. Thanks for making the Celebration of Life Beautiful with your playing of the bagpipes.
Response from Ross Brown:
Shannon, thank you for your kind words. It was a wonderful service and I was happy to be part of it. Take care.
We booked Ross to come and play for my grandson's first birthday. Due to COVID restrictions the party was cancelled, but Ross agreed to come and play on my daughter's front lawn, outside, in the freezing cold...
We shortened the time due to the cold cold weather, but my daughter, son-in-law and the baby LOVED it just the same.
Ross was extremely responsive to emails, showed up precisely at the agreed upon time, in full regalia.
Don't hesitate to book him!!!!
Response from Ross Brown:
Hi Heather, I'm glad it all worked out. Thanks again and keep yourself safe. Cheers, Ross
We were very happy with Ross, who played at our Grandad’s interment ceremony. He was easy to communicate with before the day, arrived early and played very well.
Ross played Friends of the Forest at a tree dedication on Sunday October 20, 2019. His piping was flawless and his presence gentle and warm. He was appreciated by all in attendance...especially wee Aidan who cried out "Do it again" at the end of the lament!
A great big thank you to having Ross at our wedding. We loved every moment of his playing. My only regret is that i didn't ask him to play for half an hour before the weeding. lol. Our small wedding crowd loved every moment of it.

Thanks, Shawn. I'm happy to have been part of your special day. All the best. Ross
Ross was very professional to deal with. He was helpful by offering some suggestions for pieces to be played at the beginning and end of my mother’s graveside funeral. He was punctual and played beautifully. It was a lovely way to honour our mother. I would highly recommend him.
Numerous guests at the wedding commented on how Mr. Brown's bagpiping added an air of elegance, tradition and formality to the occasion. He is a very talented musician.
He was courteous, on time and worked with the wedding party to coordinate the music.
I would not hesitate to recommend or call on him again.
Ross played the bag pipes at my grandmother’s burial. The music really added a special element to the ceremony. I would highly recommend Ross, he was lovely and easy to work with.
Response from Ross Brown:

I finally saw the light and contacted Ross about private lessons. It was the best time and money I have ever spent!! Unfortunately, I had to move far away and could no longer travel to Kingston for lessons. If I ever get back that way, one of my first phone calls will be to Ross in hopes that he will take me back as a student...he is amazing!!
