Coming from a musical family, singing from a very tender age, and dancing from the age of nine, Royanne Mitchell is a native of Trinidad and Tobago, who currently resides in Florida, USA. Called from her mother's womb, Royanne is an accomplished gospel singer, a gifted songwriter, an great dance performer and choreographer who has performed at an extensive variety of special occasions, at gospel concerts and among distinguished guests in the Caribbean, throughout the United States of America and in South America.
A major highlight of her Gospel Singing Ministry was her astounding accomplishment achieved by being placed in the top four (4) gospel soloists out of over 2000 contestants in the US Exalting Him 2004 Talent Search competition hosted by the internationally renowned US based Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) in collaboration with Daywind Records Inc, USA in Nashville Tennesse, and viewed by millions worldwide. Her two offerings, “How Great Thou Art” and “In the Name of the Lord” won her standing ovations. The stellar panel of judges for this 2004 US Exalting Him Talent Search included Deborah Evans Price - Country and Christian Music Editor for Billboard Magazine, John Mays - A&R Director for Creative Trust, Norman Holland Vice President of Daywind Music and Craig Minor-A&R Director for Vital Communications.
Royanne holds the record as the youngest singer ever to have won the Trinidad and Tobago National Song Festival since 1992. She did so at the age of 13 from among an array of well known and accomplished adult competitors. She sang the Trinidad songwriter, Roger Boothman’s composition “Everyway”. Among her well known achievements is having copped first place in the 1996 Youth Talent Competition held by the Florida Branch of the Boys and Girls Club of the USA.
Her CD entitled “YOU ARE MY GOD” released in 2004 is sought after by many gospel singing enthusiasts especially by those who cherish her unique interpretation of the well known oldie, “How Great Thou Art’. Royanne’s version of this song has been hailed by musical experts and gospel radio hosts as the most outstanding rendition of the world famous gospel song ever performed or recorded worldwide.
This young psalmist held four full-fledged gospel concerts, where she was featured as the main gospel artist. She has ministered with and shared the same stage with well-known gospel artists such as Tye Tribbett, Joann Rosario, Sister Cantaloupe, CeCe Winans, Shirley Murddock, Babbie Mason, Helen Baylor, Beau Williams, Marvin Sapp, Shirley Caesar, William Murphy, Don Moen, Ron Kenoly and Timothy Wright. She has ministered in song before leading world figures including the South African Nobel Prize Award Recipient, the Rev Desmond Tutu.
She studied music and piano performance for a number of years under the tutelage of June Joseph and has recieved distinctions from the Royal Board School of Music. She is a recipient of numerous awards including from her former country of residence, Trinidad and Tobago, achieving a name for herself.
She is an active member of the Fountain of Life Faith Center in Pembroke Pines, Florida where she is the Chief Executive Administrator, one of the Lead vocalists as well as the Arts Department Director, just to name a few.
Among her many giftings, dance has been discovered to be one of her passions. She began learning dance at the age of nine in Trinidad, continued to pursue dance classes from a now well-known christian dance school in Florida in 1998 then went on to pursue Undergraduate Studies at Florida International University (FIU) in Miami, Florida. It must be noted that her dance choreography entitled "The Aftermath", conceived from a real-life event, was chosen out of a number of dance pieces to represent FIU at the Southern Region American College Dance Festival held at Coker College in Hartsville, South Carolina hosted by the American College Dance Festival Association (ACDFA).
An avid lover of the performing arts, Royanne has always desired to establish a school, where every aspect of the arts would be taught, seeking to impart God's divine purpose in the lives of many while helping fulfil destiny to advance the Kingdom of God, a vision concieved since 1994.
Royanne holds a Masters in Business Administration Degree from Devry/Keller University, a Bachelor in Arts Degree in Dance with emphasis on Dance Education from Florida International University, Miami Florida, and an Associates in Arts Degree in Biblical Studies from Friends International Christian University, Merced, California. In addition to her academic accomplishments, she holds the title of Founding President/CEO and Chief Consultant of Dunamis Creative Solutions and Founder/CEO/Artistic Director of Dunamis International Performing Arts Consortium (DIPAC), previously known as Zion International School of the Performing Arts (ZISPA).
Royanne has a heart for those that are in need and a burden for the wounded. With Jesus being first in her life, and with her love for Christ, she believes that all things are possible. Her main objective is to reach the lost by making an impact on lives through her gifts, talents and expertise.
