I've been a Seattle-area Christian rock and pop singer, performer and actor since 1993. I've released 7 CD's commercially and just recently released "Legacy" in April of 2023. Working on my next one as we speak, entitled "Human", for release in the fall. My music is eclectic, ranging from Michael Jackson to Justin Timberlake, from Boyz II Men to Mariah Carey, and from Eric Champion to Alanis Morissette. Rock, pop, and spoken word artist; peppy, fun, and sometimes campy, but always honest and vulnerable. Thank you for listening! Visit (link hidden) for tracks and info.
Experience with Ryan is super great as a musician working with such humble singer it’s just a bonus. Powerful lyrics the attitude Ryan brings the way he pulls attention of the crowd even though it was a festival it’s just great looking forward to working and supporting Ryan’s ministry.

I’m Ryan Graves, and I've been a Seattle-area Christian rock and pop singer, performer and actor since 1993. That’s 30 years in music! I've released 7 CD's commercially and debuted with Servant in 1997. I recently released Legacy in April of 2023. My music has been very eclectic over the years, ranging from influences such as Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Boyz II Men, Mariah Carey, and more prominently Alanis Morissette, Eric Champion, Imagine Dragons, Brandon Lake, PFR, Gavin DeGraw, Marc Broussard, and Cory Asbury. Rock, pop, and spoken word artist; peppy, fun, and sometimes campy, but always honest and gritty.
I am utterly in awe of where God has taken me, and the fact that He has repaid me for the years that the locusts have eaten. Thank you, Father, for your redemptive power. I love you. I love songwriting and presenting music: it is enormously and immeasurably satisfying. I have had tremendous support over the years on this artistic odyssey, as well as people looking to revisit some of these recordings, of which there were hundreds. I made memories both good and bad. God saw me through all of it, and loved me on the peaks and in the valleys. By His grace alone, I have been given a gift, and I wanted to share it. May this site serve as a commemoration of what God was able to do in and through me, for His glory, for His gain, and for my growth. I love you Jesus.
In mid-2000, in the middle of production on my second album, Life (originally titled More Than This), I dropped out of the scene and took a hiatus after undergoing some personal trials that required some heavy introspection and soul-searching. I needed to clear my head and heart, and learn some lessons.
Well, "J.R." came back: older, and perhaps wiser. I am now Ryan Graves (I put the "R" in "J.R.") In 2010, with the help of longtime friend and bandmate Paul Racey, I released Captive: another eclectic and powerful album featuring 15 great songs that speak about living life to the fullest, identifying with pain and overcoming it, and recognizing that life is a journey to be learned from. This album is humble, honest, passion-filled and brimming with pathos. In April 2023, I released Legacy, commemorating 30 years in music, produced by Paul and Maxwell Gaver. Everything, my next album, is slated for a fall 2023 release.
It's been my intent to share through song the journey I walked through, which included painful lessons of soul-searching and eradicating image management, along with the pervasive and persistent hope that carried me through: grace through Jesus Christ. Rather than languishing in and remaining captive to addiction and questioning, I have chosen to embrace captivity to Christ, to continually seek freedom from the webs of this world that so easily entangle, and to run with perseverance the race marked out for me. I have chosen to celebrate the victory and accomplishment that comes with moving through difficulties, in the power of Jesus Christ.
Myself, and those surrounding me in my albums and past concerts, believe in the redemptive, restorative power of a second-chance-giving God, and intend to celebrate this journey through song. GLORY TO GOD. I am constantly reminded of the following verses, and I cherish them:
• Hebrews 6:10: "God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them"
• Malachi 4:2: "But for you who revere my name, the sun of righteousness will rise with healing in its wings. And you will go out and leap like calves released from the stall"
• Joel 2:25: "I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten"
• 1 Corinthians 6:11: "And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God" and
• Romans 8:38-39: "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Praise His Name forever.
