You'll know his sound as soon as you walk in the room. Maybe it's a song you know and have loved for years. Maybe it's one that you don't, but there is just something about that groove and Sam's undeniable charm that you can't ignore.
Sam Marsey curates a cool, sophisticated soundtrack that makes listeners dance in jubilation or swoon in each other's arms. He understands that each event requires a unique musical vibe to reach its fullest potential, and his gift is knowing how to take it there. With a catalog of fresh arrangements from classic Motown to funky pop, Sam Marsey is the main ingredient to your event.
First let me start by saying that Sam is pure talent. Not only a soulful singer and charismatic performer, but also a gifted guitarist.
We hired Sam to play our wedding at the Millwick in DTLA this past summer. After setting our date over a year in advance my very first priority was to find a band. Music is very important to me and I knew the importance of finding the right soundtrack to to our evening. Sam and his band were a breath of fresh air to find in a sea of musicians in Los Angeles. Sam is not only the nicest guy, but also extremely professional.
We hired Sam to play our ceremony solo, first playing music to welcome our guests on our their way in and then learning an array of eccentric songs for us to play during the walk down the isle (Elvis, Johnny Cash, & Steve Winwood).
During cocktail hour Sam was joined by his band along with a trumpet player to play a Jazz assemble. It added beautiful depth to everyone mingling and the sun setting on a hot summer night.
Reception was kicked off with our first dance (Randy Newman) in which Sam and his band did an amazing job covering our song. After we requested two songs to kick off the dance floor, James Taylor (for all our New England family) dropping into ⇢ Ginuwine (for our friends). They absolutely killed it and it was one of my favorite memories of the night… being surrounded by all our friends and family joining us on the dance floor.
Our vendors enjoyed working with Sam, our guests LOVED the music and danced all night, and we are beyond thankful to him for his talent and creating a beautiful soundtrack to our wedding.
Attended an event at a local park in Menifee, CA and this band was performing. Really awesome renditions of popular music, great vibe, jazzy feel, soulful. Crowd seemed to really enjoy it. I know my family and I did. Would enjoy seeing them again.

The Trio did a great job at our event! They arrived on time and were able to set everything up in a timely manner. Did some great covers that kept the energy at the party throughout the whole three hours. They were very pleasant to work with before and after the party, and super helpful. As the music director for a church, I hired this trio to play an outdoor “Trunk n Treat” party for the neighborhood surrounding the church. The age range of the guests were from 1-80 years, so the music needed to be relatable to a very wide audience. The Sam Marsey Trio managed to play jazz, pop, R&B, blues, indie, 50’s and classic rock tunes that were recognizable to everyone. They confirmed the set list with me ahead of the gig and were super flexible with requested revisions, even though this required that they learn a number of new songs. They arrived early, started exactly on time and were congenial and professional. They were obviously very accomplished musicians and for the first time ever, I received 100% positive feedback from the audience on my booking choice. This band is amazingly talented and I highly recommend them. I will absolutely hire them again in the future. They were great to work with!

Requests? No problem. Just get them to us with at least two week's notice and we'll let you know what we can do. This does not mean that we perform all requests, but that we will certainly perform ones that we feel are within our range of style.
