San Diego Tequila Tour

With the thousands of options of tequila to choose from, it can be a real challenge to find a product that is clean and pure, free of additives. The main goal is to help people identify the purity of tequila and how barreling tequila affects the overall profile based on length of time in the barrel. Kind of like a wine tasting, but with tequila!
By sipping tequila, you will learn what to expect from blanco, reposado, and anejo. They each have their own uniqueness so it really is a personal preference. Some people may enjoy a longer aged product offering more barrel notes along with caramel and hazelnut or a non aged that still has that sweet agave nature.

We all have our favorite tequila brands but did you know that some of the top selling, more expensive brands are nothing more than additives. After a trip to Mexico a few years back, I was amazed at the centuries and generations of agave farming, the amount of time just waiting for the agave plant to mature, and the overall process from uprooting the agave all the way down to bottling, labelling, and corking of the finished product.
