SandiCastles, LLC was founded in the Southeastern NC area by Sandi Adams. Sandi began working in sand in 2008, and in 2009 Team SandiCastles participated in its first competition, Castles and Scoops, taking first place in the adult division. In 2010 she participated in the freelance division of the North American Sand Sculpting Championship in Virginia Beach, VA. Sandi has had the opportunity to learn from master sand sculptors Ted Siebert, Rich Varano, JOOheng Tan, and others. In addition to providing sculptures and lessons throughout Southeastern NC, Sandi was on staff at the 2011 World Championship of Sand Sculpting, the 2012 and 2013 Sand Bash, and at the 2013 American Sand Sculpting Championship. At Sand Bash and the American Championship Sandi provided hands-on lessons as well as main stage sculpting demonstrations for event visitors.
Corporate clients have included Cape Fear Community College Hospitality Conference, Pleasure Island Chamber of Commerce, Capt'N Bills Restaurant, BizTech Conference, Holiday Inn Resort, Battleship Splash, E+ Corporation, New Hanover County Special Olympics, Onslow County Public Library, Onslow County Parks & Recreation, HGTV,and GE Healthcare.
In addition to founding SandiCastles, Sandi has been a professional in the field of conflict resolution since 1983. She provides mediation, conflict coaching, training, and facilitation services. Along with a private practice, she is also an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Advisor for FEMA's ADR Office and is on a national roster to provide Americans With Disabilities Act complaint mediation for a program of the Department of Justice. Sand sculpting is her second career.
