Hello,
Regarding leaving early, that was purely a failure to remember the end time. Looking at the time I was there and the price I quoted it made sense since I traveled from Long Beach and I charge a $50 fee for traveling outside of the immediate LA area. What would’ve been helpful was a correction of the booked quote so that I wasn’t able to leave earlier than booked.
Regarding the experience; I’ll say that we are both entitled to the views we both share for the events. Though I was uncomfortable with some of the conversations being had around me and essentially being inactive for an hour while service was being done, I felt I gave great service to the children who decided to come up to me. You might’ve expected something great and magical and grand but having expectations can lead to disappointment. Which is what happened. You placed me next to reindeer and expected children to flock to me. As a performer and a human being underneath my outfit, we need to be able to go off the energy we receive. We bounce off of that. Without the energy we struggle severely.
I would recommend more direction to your selected performer and less opportunities for downtime. It doesn’t serve both parties well well there is a lack of preparation and organization.
On top of that, even as I expressed towards the last thirty minutes that the sun was in my face your response was to deal with it. I sat and tried to take good pictures with the hot sun in my eyes and I know all of those pictures showed my struggle to look into the camera with the sun behind them.
Reviews certainly matter, but it’s only fair that when others read the reviews they see my response to them. This event was disorganized, lacked preparation and was reliant on me for the main source of entertainment without guidance. Letting your Santa know the type of venue also helps. I see this as a learning opportunity for me to speak up and ask more questions and you to be more prepared when hiring entertainment
