Santa was such a joy! He played the character so well. We hosted a store event, and once families knew Santa was here, they came from everywhere to visit! I cannot praise Santa Jim enough! This is the second year that he arrived from the North Pole at our busy Target store and brought joy to every child and adult he encountered! Santa Jim spent the afternoon with hundreds of children at my busy Target store and never missed a beat. I can't say enough wonderful things about Santa Jim! He is the perfect Santa! Just before he walked in, a little girl ask if the real Santa was coming. Just at that moment, he happened to walk in with bells jingling and a hearty Ho, Ho, Ho. She went up to him and they were talking. Later I ask her if she thought that was the real Santa. With a big smile, she said yes! She kept hugging him! He was very engaging with each person, young and old. He held conversations with the kids and I could tell they were truly happy with him and I really think they believed he was the real Santa! All the parents and staff were greatly impressed with him as well. I even asked him to make a quick message to my daughter who is on the fence about Santa and now she still believes! Santa Jim is a MUST for any event that needs a Santa!

We hosted our 3rd annual Pictures with Santa event and were not disappointed. Each year, Santa and Mrs. Claus provide an amazing experience for the families joining us at the event. Santa Jim is by far the best Santa to have at your event, and Mrs. Claus is a must!

From the moment he stepped off the carriage we were all overwhelmed with Christmas spirit. He looked fantastic and won everyone over instantly! Santa Jim was a big hit at our neighborhood party. He mingled with the guests and talked to each child about what they wanted for Christmas. Everyone took pictures. He even read a Christmas story with the children. Mrs. Claus was wonderful too.

SANTA JIM (BOLTIN) has been a professional Santa since 2014. He is retired from DFW AIRPORT BOARD where he worked in the signs and marking department for 20 years after selling his own sign business in Omaha, Nebraska.
He lives in Arlington, Texas (when not at the North Pole) and he's been married to Mrs. Claus for 50 years this November. Together, they have 4 wonderful children, 12 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He is also a Christian, non-smoking, non-drinking, purple heart recipient and Viet Nam veteran.
Santa loves children and he loves being Santa! We can assure you that having Santa Jim for your special event will be a positive experience! We work hard to meet your expectations and, best of all, children love Santa Jim!
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Please arrange for valet or designated parking (close by) for Santa as well as a greeter/escort to the event.
2. Please provide a large, comfortable chair for Santa; preferably one sturdy enough to accommodate at least 2 people. Folding chairs or low to the ground chairs do NOT work well for photos (or Santa).
3. A "visit" with Santa usually takes no more than 5 min (give or take)...so figure about 10-12 children per hour. This allows plenty of time for personal photos. If your guests want more photos or time we suggest they schedule a photo shoot with a photographer.
4. Santa Jim books events for a MINIMUM of 2 hours.
5. NO pets unless pre-arranged. Santa is not able to handle animals and children in the same event for health reasons.
5. If you are distributing prizes or gifts, please arrange for someone familiar with the guests to read/announce the names. Santa can help hand them out, but does not ever want to mis-pronounce or "forget" someones name.

Guidelines for Event Coordinator︎s and Staff
The following items are SUGGESTIONS to assist event planners, coordinators, site managers and others at special events where Santa will be in attendance and where there is a need to coordinate crowds and/or lines.
1. Always address Santa as Santa! Don︎t spoil the magic of the event. Even if you know his real name, call him Santa.
2. Everyone is part of a team. From Santa, to the event coordinator, to the helpers, everyone is a member of a team and teamwork can make or break an event. If you can, make sure everyone knows what his or her job is and what each other︎s job is. Also, know the chain of command. Whom do you report to? Who do they report to?
3. Know where everything is. If you are not familiar with the site for the event, take a few minutes to walk around and get to know where everything is. Where are the restrooms? Telephone? Etc.
4. Arrange to have a designated parking spot for Santa NEAR the entrance/stage area. Have a private changing room or break area for Santa. Depending on his schedule, Santa may often arrive incognito or in casual wear so as to keep his suit neat and clean AND/or to avoid being “mobbed” and delayed outside the venue. He may need a change of suit or “refreshing” during the event.
5. Refreshments for a 1-3 hour visit from Santa are not required. However, if longer than three hours a snack would be appropriate. Also, as he is wearing a very warm suit, please have some bottled water available to quench his thirst and keep him cool.
6. Santa may need a fan. Even in the winter months, an indoor event can get quite warm. Especially if the event location gets crowded. Santa is wearing a very warm and heavy suit, trimmed with fur. He can get overheated if the temperature in the room gets too high. Having a small fan, near where he sits and aimed at his head and shoulders will do wonders in keeping him cool.
7. Santa needs hourly breaks. After one hour of work sitting down on a Santa set, and each hour thereafter, Santa should be allowed to take a 10-minute break. He needs to stretch his legs and cool down. Breaks and break times should be worked out before the event begins. For details on the proper Santa Chair, see our, ︎Hints for a Visit from Santa.︎
8. Roaming events need more breaks. If Santa is set to be standing and roaming around your event, he will need more frequent breaks. Similar to what most theme parks do, Santa should be on the set no more that thirty minutes, followed by a fifteen minute break where he can sit down and cool off. Remember Santa is wearing a very warm and heavy, fur lined suit. And he is also a Senior Citizen and not used to standing for long periods of time.
9. Stanchions or railings are good for controlling large lines. Most people will respect a rope or barricade, thus leaving helpers more time to work with families and Santa. A simple control gate can be made with two chairs, with guests being asked to line up between them. A simple barrier can be made by a row of chairs.
10. Things work best with two or more assistants or helpers. While one helper is controlling the front of the line. The other monitors the rest of the line. Be prepared to answer all kinds of
questions from those waiting in line. You might want to have some knowledge of where bathrooms are, and how to direct them to parts of the event site. In order to stay on schedule , it’s important that Santa be escorted to and from his break area.
11. Do not lift, carry or handle any child. If children are to visit with Santa or if photos are taken, allow the parents to take their child or children up to Santa. Helpers, assistants and coordinators should not handle any child unless it is necessary or an emergency. This is not only to reduce insurance liability, it is now something that is considered morally correct. Besides the children will be more comfortable with their parents.
12. Assistants need to make sure visitors’ hands and faces are clean and not sticky. If children are going to visit or talk with Santa, it is important that the children be clean. Sticky or dirty hands can get in Santa︎s beard or on his suit and everything will have to stop if Santa has to clean up. Dirty hands are also known to be one of the top transmitters of common germs and viruses. No one wants to be a known transmitter. Parents are usually very good at keeping the kids clean, but in a hectic event like this, kids can surprise all of us.
13. The best photos are taken in the first five seconds. Children in strange situations can often be afraid. Parents should always stay with their children as they go up to Santa to help assure the child. Helpers should inform the parents to take their child or children up to Santa, place them on his lap and quickly move out of the photo area.
14. Santa︎s helpers should never handle babies or infants. Even though a lot of helpers love holding babies, this must be left to the parents. A parent should always place their child onto Santa’s lap or into Santa︎s arms.
15. Assistants need to keep the lines moving. Do not allow a parent or family to take over Santa. Sometimes a parent will pull out a camera and want to take a photo or two. However, there are those parents who think if the digital camera can take 120 photos, they can take all of them with Santa. If a family has their own camera, mention to them that is great and that they can take one or two photos. If the line is short, and Santa has time, the family can take a few more photos if needed. We never want to upset any family, but we must be considerate of those in line.
16. People in line should be made aware of break times and end time, either by assistants or signs or both. Sometimes it necessary to stop allowing guests in line when it gets within 15-30 minutes of closing.
16. Everyone should try to have fun. There is no use worrying about anything. If the work gets too hectic, tell someone. Maybe someone can switch places or another assistant can be added.
