Sarah + Justin is a neo-jazz duo playing modern, groove-based arrangements of jazz standards + original instrumental music that satisfies a unique, relaxing flare. The foundation of Sarah + Justin is built on listening; to each other and to the room. From listening comes music that is tapped into and inspired by the vibe of each event, creating relaxation and pleasant experiences for listeners.
I've been working with Sarah and Justin for several months as part of the Brandywine Music and Arts Collective and Tyler Arboretum partnership. They are at our venue four times a month with a variety of programs. They are wonderful people, musicians and partners in in promoting the arts in our area. Their level of musicianship is superb and you will not be disappointed in hiring them for any event.
I hired Sarah and Justin as a duet to provide background music for guests as they arrived at my nursing program’s graduation ceremony. Although the intent was ‘background’ ambiance, they quickly drew in a surrounding audience! Their unique arrangements of classic jazz standards, along with their captivating original music, was EXCELLENT. In addition, both Sarah and Justin presented with the utmost professionalism and grace. I have already booked them for next year’s ceremony! SOUND + INSTRUMENTATION:
Our sound is ideal for creating atmosphere while attendees enjoy your event. Expect relaxing and modern arrangements of jazz standards and original instrumental jazz compositions.
Every instrumental we use is subtle and respectful of volume. Instrumentation we can accommodate include:
1. Piano + light cocktail drum kit (instrumental or including vocals)
2. Piano + guitar (instrumental or including vocals)
We do not require that there is an acoustic piano present at your venue, as we can provide a keyboard.
SET DURATION:
We can provide live music for up to 3 hours. A 3 hour time slot includes two sets with a set break in between. Shorter sets may not require a set break.
REPERTIORE:
Jazz standards and original jazz compositions. We may take requests from standards found in the Real Book.

Sarah + Justin are original performing artists rapidly gaining attention on the Philly music scene. Both being trained musicians and improvisational players, they created their jazz duo as a space to channel and explore their love and respect for jazz. They are deeply passionate and motivated by the ability to arrange jazz standards and original compositions to evoke relaxation and comfort for the listeners around them.
Both Sarah and Justin have years of experience working in health + wellness, including their work with the Brandywine Music + Arts Collective, a non-profit organization (founded by Justin) dedicated to supporting the mental health of original musicians and artists. Sonic healing is a topic the duo continues to stay educated on, as they feel that it's a responsibility for musicians to help people FEEL better through music.
SPACE REQUIREMENTS:
Our setup requires a space about 8X8 (for keys + guitar) or 12x12 9for keys + drum kit)

We provide our own sound, including:
- 73 key electric piano
- Powered PA system (mixer and 2 PA speakers)
- Acoustic guitar
- Vocal microphones (if needed)
-All required cabling, DI boxes and surge protector
*We are studio owners and sound engineers who pride ourselves on the highest quality live sound (with respect for volume levels)
