Sarah Marshall

I am a public speaker with 15+ years experience speaking to audiences of all sizes. My presentations are interactive and energetic, often times with a slideshow, but most often just in the TED Talk style.

With my presentation, I often bring resources for the guests, small gifts, and vendor materials for guests to take with them.

Sarah Marshall is an autism advocate, speaker, and Certified Autism Travel Professional with a mission to empower families to live adventurously. As the wife, mother, and Chief Organization Officer of the “Traveling Marshalls”, she and her family have lived and worked all over the world, including time spent in the Middle East, Europe and of course the great U.S.A!

In 2009, her journey was redefined by the very premature birth of her son while stationed overseas. This experience, and the subsequent navigation through medical and cognitive diagnoses and challenges, taught Sarah and her family first-hand the trials and tribulations of living with adventure while caring for their son.

When her son was 18 months old, Sarah packed up his feeding tube and oxygen and got on a plane for the first time to visit her family. As they hiked the mountains of Arizona and enjoyed each other’s company, her son began to breathe better. The sensory meltdowns decreased in severity. And for the first time, they strengthened as a family through a shared unique experience.

From that first adventure, Sarah and her family never stopped trying, even when behavior or medical issues threatened to slow them down. It was an assignment in London, England, that took her son from non-verbal to verbal. It was a road trip in Scotland that saw him hike his first mountain. It was an adventure in Italy that saw him weaning off his feeding tube and eventually able to get it removed. After many trips where tears turned to smiles, Sarah set out on a mission to give every family, regardless of need, a chance to experience this kind of transformation!

In 2018, Sarah founded TravelAble, a travel agency and inclusion consulting service. As part of the full-service travel agency, Sarah plans customized vacations to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and many other destinations. She is also the founder of the Unique Family Adventure Club, an online community of hope and support for families challenged by unique needs. Through these endeavors, she strives to provide every family with the tools necessary to have a successful adventure.
