Sawyer was absolutely fantastic! He performed at our company's Christmas party held at Moo Steakhouse in Boston. His performance was not only highly entertaining but he also displayed a level of professionalism that truly impressed everyone. We were thoroughly pleased with his contribution to making our event a success. Sawyer was an amazing choice for our casual, outdoor wedding ceremony and cocktail hour. He was so responsive, knowledgeable, and thoughtful. His style fit our cocktail hour perfectly and his music was beautiful! Incredibly grateful to have worked with him!

I engaged Sawyer for an outdoor, graveside interment service for my mother—probably not his normal gig. He impressed me from the first time we talked. I didn’t know exactly what I wanted, so we had a good discussion of some of my ideas. He listened carefully and reviewed what he understood I’d said. That made me feel confident that he would do a good job. The second time we talked, it was clear that he had been thinking about the service. He had several good questions and in the ensuing discussion, he made several really excellent suggestions about the music. All along, he was so respectful of the family’s loss while being incredibly helpful.

At the service, Sawyer’s playing was magical. As a prelude he played instrumental music on his acoustic guitar, then beautifully sang my mother’s favorite song, Moon River. This perfectly set the tone for the service—both poignant and joyful. He accompanied the hymns, including playing the tune of one on his mandolin. Finally, he played Amazing Grace as a postlude on his fiddle.

The combination of Sawyer’s talent and his unwavering professionalism made him delightful to work with.

Sawyer is THE MAN! He totally rocked the wedding reception for my son and his guests. His music selections and voice are absolutely first rate, and his musicianship is polished and professional. Sawyer provided wonderful music and vocals to our celebration. Although a solo performer he seemed like more than one! His music hit all the right notes and he adjusted based on the needs of the event (people arriving, food being served, mingling time, etc.) Sawyer was super easy to work with, very responsive, and helped me brainstorm what would be the best musical approach for the occasion. I was so happy to have him there, he helped create a happy and celebratory vibe!

Sawyer did a terrific afternoon concert at a back yard party I helped organize. We even had abundant sunshine and a warm day in November! But the biggest hit was Sawyers wonderful music and easy going friendly vibe. He sets a great tone, chatting a little with the audience, and introducing his songs.

Sawyer knows the Book of Rock and he loves to play from it, as well as his own original music and many appropriate pieces from other genres. He has deep experience coming from years with his family’s band. The music by Sawyer and his band provided the backbone for our wedding event on the beach in Wellfleet.

He helped organize the different pieces of our wedding day, suggesting the perfect songs, timing and mood. Aside from his vast talents, and those of his bandmates, Sawyer is a great communicator, very reliable and
always fun. He is also very professional and a joy to work with.

Sawyer is a gifted singer songwriter who also plays a variety of instruments expertly, including guitar and fiddle. I asked Sawyer to play a few songs at my mother’s memorial service last summer on 7/24/22. Sawyer advised on spiritual music that would be appropriate for the event, and even learned music that I requested. His voice is soulful and matches his eloquent guitar-playing. The last piece was Ashokan Farewell which he performed with grace and sacred energy on the fiddle… just gorgeous! The year before, I hired Sawyer to perform for some of my students in an outdoor concert. He played some of his own music as well as a few covers of well-known songs including folk, rock, r&b, jazz and soul. His musical expertise and talent reaches far and wide. You will not be disappointed!

Sawyer and his band played at an outdoor, community, celebratory picnic. He and his bandmates were very easy to work with, responsive to some challenging logistics, and brought a positive attitude throughout. He understood the wide range of ages attending this event and played an assortment of songs that everyone enjoyed. I highly recommend Sawyer for any event.

Although I've enjoyed several of Sawyer's performances, the best for me when my son hired him to play for a special birthday party of mine. Sawyer played songs (many of which he'd written) he knew I liked and charmed the crowd with his music, which was appropriate for the age of the crowd and the circumstances. I appreciate his flexibility and love his talent! I'd recommend him highly for many different kinds of events.

A house concert provides one of the most intimate, relaxed ways to experience live music. In our case, our first house concert with Sawyer was during the winter, in a cozy room with some of our closest friends. Sawyer filled the space with warm harmonies, performing straight from the soul. His versatility, whether singing, fiddling, or playing guitar and harmonica, is jaw-dropping. The arc of Sawyer’s performance left everyone in a golden glow, with full, happy hearts. He’s a terrific talent and a terrific guy! It was such a great experience that we had him back again for a concert outdoors for a larger audience in the Spring as well!

Sawyer has a way with music that pulls you in and brings you along for the ride. I have hosted house concerts for him twice, most recently March 30 2019 and I cannot speak more highly of his ability to create a warm and welcoming musical world for my guests as he tailors the concert to his audience. I truly love is voice and the way songwriting relates to our life experiences. His shows are not to be missed and one of a kind!

It was so fun to host Sawyer for a house concert! What a great way to bring my friends and family together in a relaxed setting to hear some amazing music.

Hosting house concerts is such a wonderful way to experience music more intimately and build a personal connection with artists. We were thrilled to host Sawyer's house show at our funky apartment on Baker Street in San Francisco, and invited a mix of friends and acquaintances to hear him play. Not only was everyone blown away by the music, but Sawyer also invited some friends to hop up and play a couple of tunes with him. After the show, the whole crowd sat around the living room together sipping wine and having a big singalong with Sawyer to some of our favorite old songs. It was a magical evening.

Sawyer performed at our backyard neighborhood party and everyone loved it! What a fun way to get the neighborhood together. We had time to socialize first and then everyone sat back and got absorbed in the music. His sound was polished and the variety of songs he played went over great with the guests.
