I am a "One Man Band" featured on my Saxophone and Vocals. My primary genre of music is Old School, Beach, Jazz, R & B, Pop, with a little Country on the side. If it is positive music, and available, I perform it... From Grover Washington to Gerald Albright... The Temptations to Peabo Bryson... Luther to Prince... the Eagles to the Beetles!
"R & B is what I do. But! Gospel is who I am!

I joy in bringing back memories of music from the past; especially the 60's thru the 80's. If it has positive lyrics, especially about Love, I try to find it and perform it.
My band is in my computer, in which most of my songs are recreated with real instruments and real background vocals. Often! Many believe they are listening to a CD until they give serious attention to me and my lyrics, in which I often change some words to suit the occasion.
Mostly I play my Soprano Sax. But! Occasionally I will use my alto or tenor. It all depends on the desire of the host. Being one person, I have to handle all of my equipment, which includes my computer, mixer and the appropriate speakers, based on the number in attendance. Therefore! Using all three in one performance, creates a serious challenge.
My focus is on the quality of the music. I am not a flamboyant performer with a lot of gyrations. I keep it neat and professional!
I create an atmosphere of listening, dancing and reminiscing. Sing along with me. But! You can't use my microphone! (Smile)
Travis Wilson’s Biography
Travis Wilson is a retired teacher and a musician extraordinaire. He utilizes his
trained gifts and talents to mesmerize his listeners with artistic vibes with his voice
and on his saxophone. He uses the memories of the songs of yesterday, to tantalize
the hearts of those who appreciate good wholesome music.
Travis is a recording artist, song writer, poet and a vessel of God, who uses all he
possesses to provide an atmosphere of soothing tranquility.
Born in Goldsboro, NC, living in Greensboro, he is willing to travel wherever there
is a hunger for Old School, Motown, Beach, Jazz, Gospel music and more.
He describes his style as “New-Old School” and he has shared his craft all along the
East Coast of the United States and several countries in the Caribbean.
Wilson reaches back to the fun, enjoyable times of a great musical era of melodies –
as he blends a fresh exuberance in his style.
His motto says it all. “R & B is what I do… But Gospel is who I am!”
My needs are minimal. I typically wish to either be on a stage, against a wall, or in a corner, where there is no need for any foot traffic. When I bring my own equipment, which is most of the time, I only have need of one power outlet. (110v) I do not require a lot of space.
I bring my own table and chair, and my equipment is based on the number of participants. I use a small system for under 75 people. A medium system for up to 125 people. And a large system for up to 200 people. Above 250 people, I would highly suggest the hiring of an outside sound agency. Other wise, I provide my equipment. If and outside consultant is needed, I would only need 3 lines and 2 microphones.
Lighting will be left up to the consumer. If a light show is desired, that will need to be subcontracted.
My only other desire is to be able to set up a minimal of 2 hours before the guests begin to arrive. I like to start my music as the first guests arrive, unless the client has a different program in mind. I am flexible.
I have a massive set list, and I adjust my songs to the crowd. Here I will list several groups, of which I have at least one song per artist. This is not all of the artists that I have, and it would be too timely to show all of the songs. If you have a special request, please ask, and I will try to provide it or something similar.

I am very much influenced by Motown, Gospel, Beach, Smooth Jazz and multiple artists from many genres of music.
I especially love music with a message, tight harmony, ballads, love music and more.
On the Saxophone, I was greatly influenced by Grover Washington, Boney James, Stanley Turrentine, Kirk Whalum, Gearld Albright Dave Koz and more.
Vocals, I was influenced by the Temptations, Bobby Caldwell, Marvin Gaye, Lou Rawls, Beach Boys and more.
In other words, I was impressed with harmony, lyrics, style and desires to "Pat My Feet!"
I typically bring my own equipment. But! If the venue provides. I only require 3 outlets. (2 microphones and a line for my computer) One mic stand.
