You can expect a high-quality, professional comedian with 25 years of experience doing comedy shows at clubs from coast-to-coast, fundraisers, and corporate events. Whether you are a small group at a home or a few hundred in a banquet setting, I can cater to any environment. My show consists of telling stories about my life, my family, and my observations. I use self-deprecating humour as well as physical comedy along with some minor crowd work to be inclusive. At the end of the show you will know I am a Dumbass.
Scott won Alberta’s Search for Funniest New Comic in his first year of comedy, but was disqualified for going over his allotted time, by 26 seconds. “They wouldn’t stop laughing”, he says in defense. Along with performing numerous at corporate functions, fundraisers, Xmas parties and golf tournaments, he has headlined comedy clubs from coast-to-coast, except for his hometown of Ottawa. Something to do with a bad Tim bits joke. You can hear him on Sirius XM radio, Canada Laughs station, talking about gourmet pizza, having a French last name and his Mom’s nipples.
In his career he has worked with such accomplished comedians as Harland Williams, Tommy Chong, Emo Phillips, Mike MacDonald, Judah Friedlander, Ari Shaffir, and Gilbert Godfried. He has had numerous showcases for prestigious festivals over his 20-year career. Recently Scott performed at the YYCOMEDY Festival in Calgary, The Okanagan Comedy Festival, and Funnyfest, as well as the 17th Anniversary show for the prestigious and long running, Comedy Monday Night. You can also catch him in numerous television commercials, FX network’s Fargo and Damnation on Netflix as well as his role as a fertility doctor in the award winning movie, February’s Dog. He is the creator, producer and long-standing MC of the very successful Friday Night Comedy, a monthly theatre show in Canmore, Alberta.
In order to have a successful comedy show you need to have a crowd that is close to a stage or an area that is focused on the performer. A stage isn't necessary but it sure does help. Two things that are very important are a good quality sound system, preferably with a mic that has a cord, and a decent lighting set up. If sound and lights can be supplied by the venue or client, that would be great, but if either is not available, I am able to supply good quality sound system as well as 2 high-end lights.
