Officially formed in 2013, euphoniously newfangled indie band Selah Korah's members have been playing together since mid 2000s. The spark that lit the fuse for a stable project was Michael’s acquisition of an acoustic guitar, which prompted him to begin writing. Drew quickly joined Michael’s side as a creative sounding board and they started playing open mics with their raw formations. It was at an open mic at the Global Bean, while playing Hope Is A Hole In The Sky with band friend Adam Cain, that a remark of affirmation was spoken and the dream for a full band was born. Keith Ashley and Ben were shortly added to the lineup to round out the rhythm section. Adam continued to play with the band, at that time under the name Battlechurch, until his departure in mid 2015. With Adam’s departure the band changed its name to Selah Korah and gave an overhaul to their song lineup to better suit a four piece crew. The remaining four, each bringing their own unique and diverse musical backgrounds, cultivated the distinct sound of Selah Korah. After recording the album Love is No Joke, Keith decided to step away from the band. While Selah Korah’s makeup will forever remain shaped by Keith’s contribution, an exciting new chapter in the band began with the addition of Tyler behind the drum kit. Michael brings the bones of the songs and then the collective works tirelessly to compose the lifeblood, refining each song into its own unique life while staying true to Selah Korah’s style. We are our toughest critics to ensure our live shows are audience-centered and our recordings are the best expression of ourselves.
We are flexible with our technical requirements at this time; the audio engineer can work closely with us before the show to ensure satisfaction, but we aren't picky :)
