Shadow Of Doubt Tribute
Hello and thank you for checking us out. We rock Northeast Ohio with the best of Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
Shadow Of Doubt was founded in 2009 to express passion for Tom Petty and The Heartbreakers music. Since the untimely passing of Tom Petty in October of 2017, our mission is to provide a great source for the many thousands die-hard Tom Petty fans. We are grateful to play for so many wonderful audiences and we play all the big hits and plenty of "deep cuts" as well. We also mix in some Mudcrutch and Traveling Wilburys.
Hands down one of the best bands Minerva has had. And what a fantastic headliner for our 4-day annual event . This was a new beginning with the 101st Homecoming and they topped it off nicely. Would greatly recommend anyone to book them
Response from Shadow of Doubt:
Thanks, Nathan! Shadow of Doubt always strives to give the best Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers experience we can! It was a pleasure being part of your 101st homecoming days event In this beautiful little town!

If they close their eyes they just might think that they are at a Tom Petty concert as we play the songs exactly as he did. I dress as Tom Petty did, with the same haircut and look. We take great pride to reproduce all of the harmonies that TP & H performed live and on their albums. We tell stories of how certain songs came to be or something interesting about who was involved in the making of an album or track. We know 60 of the songs he did....most of them his...a couple from his Traveling Wilbury days...and a few covers he did. So, if someone wants to hear a particular song he did...even if it is not one of his more well known ones, there is a decent chance that we will know it. From his Mudcrutch days to present, we cover different phases of his career and music. We ARE the Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers music experience!
We are a Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers tribute band who can entertain at clubs, parties, festivals or fairs, and bars. Our group was formed in early 2009 by Jim Wilson, Rod Wolanin, and Joe Morales. We added drummer Paul Kompier in the fall of 2009. We had searched for a lead guitar player, and found a couple that just didn't work out. That process took several months. In the fall of 2010 we found our lead guitar player Mike Kearns. In February of 2011, we then had booked our first gig at a local outdoor music festival to be held in August of 2011.
I should go back a little in time. In April of 2010, our bass player Rod Wolanin was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He fought on and continued with the band. Sadly, he passed away on March 10 of 2011. He was not only a band mate for many years, but a childhood lifelong friend. At that point, there was uncertainty as to whether we would continue this project. At Rod's wake, we reconnected with another old band mate who so happened to be looking for a project. And hence, we acquired Elvis Manson to play the bass guitar.
So, we did ended up playing our gig at the festival with much success and have played some very fun gigs since. Tom Petty's music has a very wide appeal as we have found out first hand.
Jim Wilson(lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Mike Kearns(backup vocals/lead guitar), and Elvis Manson(backup vocals/bass guitar) have played in another band with each other for years. Joe Morales(backup vocals/keyboard) and Paul Kompier(drums) also have much professional experience.
So, this band was a vision and dream that wasn't easy to carry out but we have overcome some hard obstacles and some painful loss. We are all perfectionists who never give up our desire to produce a great product.
An event planner who hires us can expect a hardworking band who strives for perfection in our performance. We will keep the audience engaged not only with some great music, but some interesting stories about how a particular song or album came to be. We love to play....we don't even like to take breaks between sets because the more songs we can play, the better. We are dedicated to building a fine reputation and memorable performances!
