Shamrocks In The Wind is a Celtic/International Folk Ballad Duo. We sing a mix of historical, cultural, humorous, and audience participation songs with a strong bent toward our Irish and Scots heritage. We have opened for such well known folk acts as The Kingston Trio, The Wolfe Tones, Glen Yarbrough and others. We have performed throughout the United States, as well as in Australia, Ireland, England, Canada and Jamaica.
We do everything from hard core, raucous Irish ballads to a fun, family friendly folk act Your choice.
You can find our music on i-tunes, CD Baby and many other on-line music resources.
We had a great evening of song, laughter and audience participation that was enjoyed by everyone. Thank you to Shamrocks in The Wind! Our event was such a great time.

We are a live, acoustic, duo. John plays 6 and 12 string guitar and Karol plays bass. We both sing. We do not use any computer generated backgrounds or other back up. We can provide our own small venue PA system upon request.
We generally do a predetermined set for the first part of the show then seek requests from the audience so we are sure to include many of their favorite songs.
We do many audience participation songs and encourage the audience to sing and clap along. This is "Irish" music. We expect the audience to be involved.
Although some of our music is dance-able, we are not a dance band. We are a more of a show group.
We are Shamrocks In The Wind. We were once known as Murphy's Law for all the folks who have followed us over the last 30 years or so. John grew up in Oregon from the time he was a small child. Karol grew up in Minnesota from North Irish and Viking heritage. We have been singing together for over 25 years.
Our goals with our music is to keep the tradition of Irish Ballads alive and to do shows where both we and the audience have fun! We sing music from the Irish and Scots and music from where the Irish and Scots emigrated - whether they wanted to or not!
We prefer up close and personal performances where we can interact with the audience. We are perfectly willing to do acoustic sets when the venue is small and personal. We do house concerts, pubs, festivals, country clubs - almost anywhere. We have performed for crowds as small as 10 and as large as 10,000.
We can do everything from a Sinn Fein rebel show to a fun, gather round the camp fire, sing-a-long. Karol loves "educational" songs which usually means something a bit risqué.
John's voice is often compared to Burl Ives, Roger Whitaker or Kenny Rogers.
We have produced 13 CD's. Many of them are on line at various venues.
We require an adequate sound system unless we will be doing an acoustic show or we have been requested to bring our Bose system. Other than that, we can play in almost any venue. We need an area approximately the size of a 4 x 8 sheet of plywood for us and our gear.
