Shane is a Ziglar certified coach & trainer dedicated to helping people overcome the BS (Belief Systems) holding them back from living to their full potential in all 7 areas of life. Shane uses his story of being a human speed bump to lead, motivate, and inspire his audiences to lead, love, and live to their full potential. Shane shares motivational and inspirational messages about overcoming obstacles, unleashing your greatness, letting go of fear, rejecting rejection, basic success principles, and how to live the life you were called to live, not the life you feel stuck with. He speaks at colleges, corporate events, business seminars, and marketing seminars.
Enjoyed his motivational talk at the CCA conference. I needed to hear this. Fear can keep you immobile for many reasons but obtaining knowledge can overcome that fear.

Shane is the author of the book Speed Bumps in the Mind: 7 Ways to Unleash Your Inner Genius, Do Stuff That Matters and Live Life on Purpose.
You see, when Shane was 22, he was run over by a truck and needed brain surgery in order to live. He was literally, a human speed bump. He lived through it and eventually recovered. He uses his head injury story to teach people how to overcome the speed bumps in their minds that limit their success in any field.
In his talks and workshops, Shane identifies five basic mental blocks (speed bumps) that prevent people from achieving the wealth, health and happiness most everyone wants. The five basic mental blocks that Shane has identified through his years of research are:
1. Indifference, Lack of Ambition
2. Doubt
3. Fear
4. Confusion/Lack of Purpose
5. Procrastination
During this talk, Shane will unravel each of these common mental blocks (speed bumps) and show you how to overcome each of them using simple, but underused, methods that have been around for centuries.
He also shares basic success principles that’ll help you get from where you are to where you want to be. If you’re in business or if you’re an entrepreneur then you’ll walk away with actionable steps you can take to help you overcome your mental blocks and reach your goals, at any level.
As you will soon see, my life has been no crystal staircase. In December of 1999 I was involved in a serious car accident where I fell out of a moving truck and had the back tire(s) of the truck run over my head. I was in the hospital for about a week in a semi-comatose state. Because of the excessive swelling in my brain, the doctors had to perform brain surgery on me or I would have died.
Within 4 weeks of the accident I was back to work part time and within 6 weeks of the accident I was back in the gym three days a week and working full time. I walk around with a steel plate in my head and headaches at times, but I was given a second chance at life. And now I’m using that second chance to help entrepreneurs just like you achieve a work/life balance that if not only fun and fulfilling, but profitable as well.
You have a unique talent inside of you. If you learn how to unleash that talent (i.e. your greatness), you will not only enjoy your life more, but you will help others enjoy their lives more as well.
Just like you, I’m an entrepreneur. I’ve been an entrepreneur since 2004 when I started my first business, a home inspection company. I’ve been a student of marketing since 2005; however, it wasn’t until 2010 that I started my college adventure at the ripe old age of 32. I earned a Bachelor’s in Marketing from Coastal Carolina University in May, 2013. In December of 2014, I earned my MBA from Coastal Carolina University where I graduated as “MBA Student of the Year 2014”. In early 2015 I was recognized for my “business excellence” and was inducted into the International Honor Society, Beta Gamma Sigma.
Yes, I enjoy school…a lot. Actually, I enjoy learning.
Direct Response Marketing Expert for Small Business
I’m a self-proclaimed (ha ha) expert in direct response marketing for small businesses. Direct response marketing is how I grew my company over 45% in one year. I use my 10+ years of business and marketing experience to help small business owners develop business plans, marketing plans, unique selling propositions and achieve a positive work/life balance.
Public Speaking
I’m a sought after public speaker. I’ve delivered speeches to college students at Coastal Carolina University, business professionals at Toastmasters, churches and Real Estate professionals. I use my wit and humor to teach lessons in marketing, sales, business and life. To learn more about my speech topics, please visit my speaking page.
Home Life
I’m originally from Ohio, but I currently live in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina with my wife of 12+ years and my two kids. My son has been a part of BSA (Boy Scouts of America) for over 5 years. I’m an Assistant Scoutmaster in our Troop and enjoy spending time with my son. (I love spending time with my daughter too, but she’s over 18 now and pretty much on her own).
My family and I are passionate about spending time with players from The Miracle League and support them at sporting events and fund raisers.
I try to keep things as simple as possible. I can speak from a podium in an office setting with 10 people or I can speak on stage with hundreds of people in the audience. I've done it both ways. I don't need anything fancy pants. As long as I have a podium and a lapel mic, I'm good.
Thank you,
Shane
