I perform as a solo artist. I have my own sound system, and hundreds of tracks to which I provide live, lead vocals. I perform for weddings, private parties and corporate events, as well as community and church events. I am a powerful singer who engages my audience while enjoying every minute of the performance myself.

My Dad enjoys upbeat, romantic songs by Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, Aretha Franklin, etc., so Star sang those songs for us (in a brief 15 minute "singing telegram" visit to our longer family call). After searching everywhere for someone to sing a special song at our daughter's wedding we finally found Sheila. The minute we heard her voice we knew SHE WAS THE ONE! Sheila is amazingly talented and an absolute pleasure to work with. We kept in touch for many months before the wedding and she was always professional and very nice. This was total surprise for our daughter and soon-to-be son in-law, so our DJ and Sheila had to coordinate the music under complete secrecy. When you go to a Sheila Star show, the words "let's give them something to talk about" will be your first thought. I have nothing but great things to say about Sheila's performance. She has a diverse song list ranging from the oldies, the new ones, r&b, rock, and pop. Excellent in connecting with the audience. My name is Sheila "Star" Washington and I am a fantastic singer/performer! I love singing and I portray that to everyone who is under the sound of my voice. The fact that I enjoy singing is evident from the first song of the set to the last. I have spent many hours perfecting my craft, and although I am singing with tracks, you will never feel that this is not an "all the way live" show. I am comfortable with all genres of music, but most especially with Motown, Country and R&B. I love "old school" music, however, I make it my business to stay abreast of what's current. I give the same level of energy to every performance, whether at an assisted living community or a festival in the park. Having my own music set up makes me a very good choice when planning events, as I can get in and get out with minimal interruption to the activities around me. I have been featured by DJs as part of their show, being added in as a "Special Guest". They play my tracks, and I give the "live" performance feel. Additionally, I have had the pleasure of singing at many weddings, both during the ceremony as well as the reception. I am always age appropriate whenever I do a gig, and always check with the host/hostess to find out whether there is anything special they'd like to hear. Although I am a soloist, I can provide a live band complete with background singers if the venue calls for it. I am also available for band hire, if you have need of a strong, female lead vocalist. As I stated before, I have a wide range of songs and genres in my repertoire, and I am sure to get in and fit in! When you hire Sheila "Star", your event is Sure to Shine!
