My job as an event photographer is to arrive early to the venue or location and check in with my client.
I always do a walk through of the venue before capturing the event decor and room before guest occupy it. People invest good money in decorations and it's my job to capture the details.
Once the event is started I will make sure to capture event/portrait style photos that show positive emotions, and feelings of joy, happiness, excitement, and enjoyment. I avoid photos of guest eating and or on their phones. The goal is for our event photos to retell the story of a great event regardless of the event.
With a fast pace social media world my job is to organize, touch up, and deliver crisp clean photos within 48 hours. We do not exit the event until we fully fulfill our agreed upon time and after checking back in with our client. We are really great at capturing moments without getting in the way and staying out the way.
We arrive to our events with a fully charged camera, extra batteries on hand, and mobile lights just in case we need to add a little more lighting. We use a camera flash. If there is any setting up to do we do our setups and hour before any event takes place. Sometimes this includes red carpet, lighting units, backdrops, and or ropes and stanchions which we offer as upgrades as well.
