Silly Jilly the Balloon Artist

Book Silly Jilly, and that is who you will get, someone fast at balloon twisting, nice, friendly, and with great reviews. She always respects the kids and would never make fun of anyone.

Balloons usually pop when they touch the grass or concrete. For parties at parks from mid-June through August, Silly Jilly usually recommends her fun and entertaining magic shows and/or walk-around entertainment. When Silly Jilly gets compliments like, "My daughter can't stop talking about you," or "I have never seen Molly laugh so hard," this is when the kids witness Silly Jilly's non-balloon antics, for example, when Silly Jilly thinks a diaper is a beautiful hat, or the kids see her comedy magic show.

When requesting more information about Silly Jilly's performances (especially for a non-winter party), please write if the party is inside your home, in your backyard, park, or other.

FOR LARGE EVENTS, INCLUDING FAIRS
Silly Jilly will (with your agreement) have a sign listing about 12 choices. (She has gotten compliments on her sign from parents saying a long list is too confusing for the children.) Examples kids choose from include: a sword, unicorn wand, flower bracelet, and dinosaur. She'll be talking with the kids and looking at them as she twists, and when less than five kids in line, occasionally "accidentally" letting the balloon go. The kids think letting the balloon go is hilarious.
Especially at large events, it’s not about Silly Jilly showing off how fancy she can make the sculptures. It’s about keeping the line happy and also increasing the number of kids who meet a clown. However, if you prefer, she can do the fancy balloons making almost whatever the kids want, for example, Tweety Bird in a cage, and if there are fifteen kids in line, that fifteenth kid will wait about an hour for the sculpture with six balloons. At almost all large events Silly Jilly would put a maximum of two balloons in each sculpture, and the fifteenth kid in line will only wait about 20 minutes and will get to watch Silly Jilly do some enjoyable gags.

PRESCHOOL MAGIC AND/OR BALLOONS
Childcare centers sometimes just hire Silly Jilly for a half hour to do a magic show. Or you could have her do small balloons consisting of two balloons per sculpture which take about 1.5 minutes but allow 2 minutes for time for Silly Jilly to introduce herself and pass out balloons and stickers. If, for example, you would like Silly Jilly to visit 3 of the classrooms of 20 kids, hire Silly Jilly for two hours.

Over half the non-regular gigs Silly Jilly does are birthday parties.
Silly Jilly is prompt and will be at your booked party even if she gets an offer for a higher-paying gig.

ZOOM PARTIES
Kids also love her Zoom entertainment. Meet and greet, then a 25-minute interactive fast-paced show, $95.

PRICING FOR LIVE PERFORMANCES
Silly Jilly's fee for a magic show and/or meet-and-greet (with no balloons or just one for the guest of honor) is $185 for the first 45 minutes and $25 for each additional 15 minutes. Balloon twisting is $10 more per 15 minutes.
Pricing is for events within 40 minutes from Webster Groves. Other STL-metro locations are usually $20 more.
Events located approximately 100 miles from St. Louis are approximately $150 more on weekends and $100 more on weekdays, with an hour and a half minimum.

Jill "Silly Jilly" Schmidt started performing after taking a non-credit clown class at St. Louis Community College in 1994. For 30 years she's performed at over 100 parties per year. Also for 30 years, she's twisted balloons at restaurants almost every week.
