Carla DelVillaggio is fast becoming one of the country's most sought-after Barbra Streisand tribute artists. She has won many industry awards, including the 2008 "Agent's Best Impressed Award" - Sunburst Convention of Professional Tribute Artists, the 2009 "Rising Star Award" - The Reel Awards, Las Vegas and the 2009 "Best Overall Celebrity Re-Creation Award" - Sunburst Convention. From the hair down to the trademark nails, Carla is Simply Streisand in every way. This exciting artist sings LIVE, recreating the high energy vocals of the "Greatest Star", the incomparable Barbra Streisand. At the same time she has the ability to sing with a beauty and purity of sound essential for the ballads that are so closely associated with this greatest of all singing actresses. Her highly acclaimed show "Then and Now, a Tribute to the Artistry of Barbra Streisand" has garnered rave reviews wherever she performs. Starting in 2011 "Simply Streisand" will also offer a show with a live 8 piece band.

Carla brings to this project more than 25 years of professional experience as a singer and stage performer, as well as a passion for and appreciation of the exquisite artistry of Ms Streisand. Having spent most of her career as a classically trained opera singer, Carla has always been inspired by and drawn to the voice and persona of Ms Streisand and she has successfully captured the essence of the one and only "Funny Girl" herself.

This project began as many others in the tribute artistry business. Over the years, friends, family and strangers often remarked about her resemblance to Streisand in looks and mannerisms, as well as her voice. Over and over she heard, "Has anyone ever told you that you look/sound like..." so she began to think about it in a more serious way. Her Streisand impersonation had its premiere performance at the "Sunburst Convention for Look-Alikes and Celebrity Impersonators" in Orlando, Fl. in 2006. To say that the response has been overwhelming would be an understatement.

Since that time she has entertained around the country at everything from private parties and corporate events, to Jewish Community Centers and night-clubs, and has performed on the Legends Stage at the Imperial Palace in Las Vegas. She even showed up at a corporate fundraiser as Roz Focker, Ms Streisand's alter ego from the movie, "Meet the Fockers".

Carla's uncanny resemblance to "Vintage" 1964 Barbra, as well as her skill in portraying Ms Streisand as we know her now, has given her the ability to create a show that is completely unique. Entitled "Then and Now...A Tribute to the Artistry of Barbra Streisand", this show, in 2 acts, encompasses the classic songs (and the "look") so closely identified with the singer in the early days, as well as the songs she has made her very own in more recent years. "Then and Now" is distinctive in the industry, as no one else performs as both the younger and older Barbra Streisand.

Whether she is costumed in the iconic sailor suit from Ms Streisand's appearance on the Judy Garland Show in the 1960s or in one of the elegant gowns from the Timeless Tour of 2000, Carla can provide you with a classy, professional and very entertaining performance of almost any length for almost any type of event.
