My presentations will sequence from classical to contemporary. Well grounded in tradition, I also weave in evocative tunes with the use of backing tracks.

He played sittar for us for several hours and also had a person next to him playing tabla. They played custom music that was perfectly suited for the event. Somehow, his melodies turned out to be exactly - or even better than - what we wanted and imagined, and he was able to deliver this with minimal guidance and short notice.
His entire performance added an air of elegance to the ambiance and our guests thoroughly enjoyed the event as a direct result of his efforts. In fact, several of them asked for his information so that they could book him for their upcoming weddings as well!

I hired Sambarta for my backyard wedding reception in September 2020. Sambarta was an immaculate professional, communicated well and worked with us every step of the way to contribute to the idyllic and dreamy reception we envisioned. Under the circumstances of the Covid-19 pandemic having Sambarta as one of our vendors was definitely a highlight of the entire night. Sambarta went above and beyond and coordinated an accompanying tabla player to further add to the aesthetic we set out for our special night. He incorporated our song tastes as well into his set list and even let my siblings use his microphone as they MC’ed the event. I couldn’t be happier with the service we received from Sambarta. Sambarta and Haroom, the table player provided beautiful renditions of our favorite bridal and groom songs upon our entrance to our ceremony along the melodious classical Hindu music. Everyone remembers them fondly and we were lucky to have them on our special day.

Sambarta is a professional sitar player with so much passion for the music that not only he gets lost in the music, but he also takes the listeners on a beautiful musical journey. He played at my wedding on December 21st, 2018. His communication before the event was outstanding, everything was discussed beforehand. Every time I emailed him with questions, he responded very quickly. He communicated with the DJ and they worked together to make sure the event went smoothly. Price is the most reasonable I found in this area, and after seeing his work, I couldn't believe he was charging so little.
At the event everyone enjoyed the sitar and complimented on how good he was. He was on time and started playing exactly when he was supposed to. He played some songs on his own and even took requests from the guests. His professionalism and the passion with which he plays, it really shows through his work. I had the privilege to invite Mr. Sambarta Rakshit to our musical fundraiser. He was so easy to deal with and willingly came to our town 2 hours away meh also arranged for a Tabla player Mr. Monir Hossain. Both together gave the most entertaining performance of the evening! Every beat was perfect and touched the heart of the audience. Just superb and classic!
Sambarta provides the music for our ceremony and cocktail hour for a wedding. He quickly found a tabla player as well. He was thorough in his communication leading up to the wedding and even learned a completely new piece for our ceremony.

I booked Sambarta off of Gig Salad for our wedding at Rose Hill Manor on April 23, 2016. I echo what others say here: he was extremely responsive from the start, was able to give advice on how the flow of music should be played, and also found a tabla player as an accompaniment. We were told by several of our guests the best part of our wedding ceremony was the Indian classical music played by Sambarta on the sitar. He was very professional, arrived on time, played beautiful music, and very responsive throughout the process. As someone who was planning a wedding, having vendors that are reliable, consistent, and execute well is a must, and Sambarta came through on all fronts while providing a harmonious background to our wedding. I would highly recommend him for any future events, and would gladly book his services again.
