In his 35 plus years as a professional, touring standup comedian, Denis has always been more comfortable with an act that works above the neck, not below the belt. It’s what helped him earn several appearances on Laugh Out Loud and The Debaters. Devoid of tawdry language and subject matter, his material weaves itself smoothly through everything from workplace culture and politics, to family, farm-life, sports and even breakfast cereal. And he can do it “en francais," too! Indeed, the research skills he developed as a trained journalist – (Denis regularly contributes to The Toronto Star and to CBC Radio) – play a big role in how he shapes his act for corporate clients.
