Kunle Olusesi is one of the foremost African leading Saxophonist, composer and teacher, with God-given musical talents. A self-taught wind instrumentalist needed no formal training to explode into his destiny at an early age.
His exuberant personality combined with his unique style of smooth jazz and compassionate spirit that crosses all socio-economic and demographic lines is undeniably infectious. He's a natural, whether on a concert stage performing with a symphony, or standing in front of a church congregation. His enthusiasm envelops the listener.
Kunle studied computer science and graduated at the top of his class. However, his passion for music and love affair with the saxophone, as means of expressing his spiritual unity and meditation of sacred text, using the wind instruments makes it difficult for him to enjoy a career in computer science.
Kunle’s forte is on the tenor, alto and soprano saxes, but he also plays the flute, EWI and piano.
His new album “New Beginning” reflects his foundational faith and personal encounter with God moving him to a higher glory. The album is filled with timeless old hymn medley, fused with his rich African heritage vocal-like sound creating a contemporary jazz, appealing to the ears.
A tireless concert artist, Kunle has worked with a host of popular international artists including Ron Kenoly, Don Moen and Fred Hammond. He has also ministered in music at various church events, led congregants in praise and worship at various major conferences around the globe.
As an entrepreneur, Kunle is the CEO of Sax planet LLC, a company positioned to provide global entertainment and commerce. Because of his passion for education, Sax planet also provides training classes in music theory, instrumentation and sound production.
Kunle’s latest undertaking is free summer music lesson boot camps to kids of ages 6-10 years to enhance their talents and gifts, to enable them as leaders in their schools and communities in creative arts.
