I present fun and educational programs for birthday parties, libraries, scout troops, nature centers, and other events! I bring lots of reptiles and amphibians to you for this hands-on and engaging program! Kids get to touch, feel, and even FEED some of the critters, all while learning about what makes these animals so unique! From tongue flicking to eating habits, I then dive into what makes snakes such a special reptile, and I introduce the audience to several of the native species you can find in your own backyard! I hired Snake Discovery for our Eid celebration. Kids and adults were glued to their seats during the presentation. Snakes kept getting bigger! I have amazing pictures of kids (and adults) reactions. Invaluable expressions. Emily was so generous with animal handling time. Everybody got a hug from the Boa and every single animal she brought along. The party was truly a hit in our community. People are still talking about it till now. Highly highly recommend it :)

In my programs, kids get hands-on experience with these scaly yet fascinating animals, and learn firsthand what makes reptiles and amphibians (aka “herps”) so unique and how they play their part in the ecosystem! This interactive program will also cover cool herp facts, introduce kids to some of our native herps they can find in their own backyard, and provide hands-on entertainment and “reptilian” activities for the entire group!
My programs are roughly 45 minutes long and include lots of touching and feeling of the animals and props. I'll even stay an extra 20 minutes or so after the program so that the audience can have another opportunity to interact with the animals!
I used to be a Naturalist for the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources, and it inspired me to continue similar work once my temporary job there was done. I love educating the public about wildlife, especially reptiles and amphibians, and I hope that my programs will spread awareness of these amazing creatures to help their preservation in the future.
All I need is a space large enough to accommodate the audience, plus a 6x6 foot space or larger for myself, animals and props.
For smaller groups, I lay out a tablecloth for kids to sit around so they can reach in and touch the animals that I set in the middle. For larger groups I just walk around to everyone. It's easiest if larger groups are sitting in a U-shape.

I bring all the needed equipment for normal parties and programs. For tabletop displays (for multi-hour fairs, expos, etc) I need a 6' or 8' table. I provide everything else.
