FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)
Q: Is the saxophone loud?
A: It can be if played in a small room, but it is capable of playing quite softly if necessary. If you currently feature amplified vocalists, the sax is not louder than that.
Q: Are backing tracks necessary?
A: Yes, unless you only want to hear one or two songs. The saxophone is a solo instrument not unlike a vocalist. Vocalists rarely perform without some form of accompaniment simply because it sounds empty. The same applies for the sax.
Q: We don’t like certain types of music, is that a problem?
A: Not at all, I can customize my set list to feature the type of music that you want for your venue. Keep in mind the the saxophone is inherently Jazzy, so most songs will have a Jazzy/Bluesy feel to them.
Q: Do you put on a show?
A: Not usually. The beauty of instrumental music is that it doesn’t normaly demand as much attention as a vocal act. Your patrons can carry on their conversations as normal while I perform or they can simply enjoy the music. I won’t get offended if they talk.
Q: How much space do you require?
A: 40 to 80 square feet is usually adequate. I will also need access to a safe 110v hydro outlet for my PA gear. I can also provide lighting if required.
Q: Will you play outdoors?
A: Yes as long as there is reasonable protection against weather and sun exposure and the temperature is at least 15˚C.
Q: How long will you play for?
A: A maximum of (3) one hour sets with a 15 minute break after each set.
