The members of Some Swords take pride in both their music and their professionalism. They value detailed, timely communication with venues and talent buyers, and always provide help with promoting events via social media, printed materials, etc. They respect event planners' and staff's time, and always make an effort to arrive early to load in, set up and meet the people they're partnering with for a show. In terms of the show itself, the band plays a full set of loud, melodic rock that pairs well with most rock bands (they have shared the stage with bands who play metal, hardcore, punk, post-hardcore, grunge, etc.). They typically set up their own table to sell band merchandise, and always let the venue/promoter make decisions involving cover charge, door split, etc.
Some Swords is a four-piece rock band originating from Louisville, KY. Their songs are packed with guitars and bass that are equal parts melodic and aggressive, drum beats ranging from odd time to straight up rock, lyrics that are poetic and interesting. Influences, to name just a few, include Rush, Fugazi, Radiohead and Foo Fighters. After a short stretch of shows in 2020 (including opening for Piebald), the band was forced by the pandemic—as most artists were—to take a hiatus from playing live. The four friends shifted their focus from the stage to the studio. The result is a full-length record titled “The Eve of the End.” The album was released on June 4th, 2021. Happy listening, friends.
The band includes one drum kit (preferably mic'd when possible), one bass guitar with stereo cabinets (these can be mic'd or run direct), two electric guitars w/ amps (mic'd if possible), and one vocal mic. Floor monitors for the singer and drummer are preferred whenever possible (but the band can go without them if necessary). For lighting, stage, sound, etc., the band will work with whatever the venue provides.
