BAND WAS VERY ENGAGING. CROWD LOVED THEIR MUSIC.
Sonic Radio, a cover band based in San Antonio, Texas, performed at this year's San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo on the Bud Light Plaza Stage the night Heart performed at the AT&T Center. The band ignited the stage with their incendiary sound and edgy rock star look and swagger.
The band performed the gamut of popular music; the rodeo crowd, much of whom were there to see Heart, were on their feet cheering and dancing as Sonic Radio blasted out hits from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, and the present. In fact, Heart's drummer, so taken with the band's performance, caught their entire set.
Lead singer Chris New's vocals melodically and mellifluously soared over the band's infectious and inspiring groove, creating a powerhouse of sound that no one who remotely enjoys live music could deny. The versatile band nailed the covers to a tee, yet performed them as if they were their very own by adding their unique attitude and style.
Sonic Radio is definitely a band you do not want to miss! You experience the whole energizing package, "sonically" and visually. As someone who has seen countless acts from all over the country, Sonic Radio is definitely one of the truly best cover bands in the land.
My friends and I were walking into the Oak Hills Tavern and we couldn't believe that the music that we heard from the parking lot was an actual band playing! They were so good that they sounded like the bar was playing the jukebox. Sonic Radio kept us dancing from song to song and we had a great time. Our only regret was that we didn't catch the full set from the beginning!

Steph has played and toured with Grammy award winning artist Chris Perez (Selena/ Kumbia Kings/ Chris Perez Band), whom he played the Latin Grammy Awards Show in Las Vegas with, and also appeared in the music video to “Todo es diferente”.
He is currently also playing and touring with the Nancy Silva Project.

Monte Ramirez (Drums, Percussion)
Monte's passion for drumming began at the age of 12. He joined the school band and learned to play many styles (latin, jazz, symphonic, etc.) throughout high school and college . At 14, Monte joined his first band, Amaziah, a Christian rock band, until the influence of Guns n Roses, Ratt, Quiet Riot, the Crue, and of course GIRLS took over. The group of teens re-formed into Destiny and proudly boasted to play "whenever, wherever...as long as we can plug in" throughout their high school days playing original and cover music.
After taking a couple of years off to earn his College degree, Monte picked up the sticks again and started to make his mark on the local music scene playing in bands such as 426,Ritual Groove and Brother’s Keep. Monte also played drums/percussion for Chacho and Brance..
Monte's cites John Bonham, Tommy Lee, Robert Sweet, Tommy Aldridge, Peter Criss and many others that blend power and finesse along with visual timekeeping as influences on his style, sound and setups.
