Sonya - Solo or Band

I can offer music quality and professionalism in every area. We work with the client regarding music choice and discuss their likes and dislikes ahead of time. We provide sound engineer and even equipment if needed. Also, because Sonya is getting to put her music out there for people to know, the price for the band is excellent. You won't regret it at all!

Sonya was born in Cleveland, Tennessee. Shortly after, her family moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and there she spent the rest of her childhood years. Being of Italian descent, Sonya's family was rooted in the traditions and life-style of the Italians. Sonya's family is also deeply rooted in the church. Her father, grandfather, and great-grandfather were all preachers.

Sonya's passion for the arts began as a little girl. Encouraged by her cusins Graciela and Alberto Salomone, Sonya was involved in various children choirs and plays. Sonya started taking piano and ear training lessons at the Thibaud Piazzini Conservatory when she was nine years old. She was always involved in music groups at her local church and in 1994 along with Raquel and David Godoy she was part of a trio ensemble. She had the privilege to sing at multiple venues with this group. She later was involved in various well-known church related musical productions in Buenos Aires.

In 1998, shortly after tying the knot with her husband, Walter Da Silva, Sonya moved back to the United States to pursue a degree in vocal performance at Lee University, Cleveland, Tennessee. While at Lee, Sonya joined the Lee Singers and travelled with them all over the United States and Europe.
In 2004, together with her husband and new addition to the family, Sophia, Sonya moved to Charlotte, North Carolina to become the Music Coordinator for the Hispanic Department at Central Church of God. She lived in Charlotte for two and a half years. During this time, she joined Central Choir and travelled with them to Spain under the direction of
Pastor Dennis Livingston.

Sonya then moved to Atlanta, Georgia with her family. It wasn’t long until she joined the
Mount Paran Church Choir. Under the direction of Pastor Mark Blankenship, Sonya has had the
opportunity to be a part of several musical productions.

In 2008, Walter and Sonya had their second child, Luka. That same year, Sonya went back
to school pursuing Music Composition Studies at Georgia State University and graduated in
2013. In January 2013, Sonya released her first album as a solo artist. One of Sonya’s
favorites selections is “Just Another Day.” The lyrics to this song were born after September
11, 2001. She was inspired with a message that will hopefully remind us to treat every
moment as a precious gift. A moment may be here today, but will be gone tomorrow.

We work with the client according to their need for the event and budget. If there's a budget for a big show, they get a big show from us because we count with everything needed for this. However, if the budget is not as big for many details in the show, we provide the same music excellence.
