Sortwell Bagpiping was established in 2008 as a personal bagpiping service for weddings, funerals, and nonprofit events. We have evolved into an all-occasion bagpiping service, and we pride ourselves on our personal commitment to your special occasions. Sortwell Bagpiping maintains a record of direct communication with our clients so as to provide traditional Highland music specifically for your event.

It was so easy to book through Gig Salad. With an out of town wedding the planning was not easy but gig salad made booking our Piper a snap! Mike Sortwell showed up in a professional and experienced manner to our daughters wedding! Ready to pipe the newlyweds out of the cathedral! We will definitely use him again if we ever need a highland bagpiper in the Pittsburgh area

Mike responded and was booked for our family reunion/mini clan gathering within 5 day of the event at a very reasonable rate. I chose him based on other reviews and was not dissapointed. He marched out from behind some shrubs and down the drive to the amazement of all gathered. Everyone including the neighbors were blown away!

I booked Mike Sortwell to play at my fathers memorial mass this morning and he was perfect! My dad loved listening to the bagpipes. Mr. Sortwell played the bagpipe for my daughter's outdoor wedding. He no only looked sharp, he also played impeccably. He marched the whole length of a football field playing Highland Cathedral in beween the rain drops. He remained not only professional, but truly likeable. Mr. Sortwell helped to make a rainy event special. We are all very appreciative.
