Soulful Cello

I can perform beautiful solo cello pieces to complement any event!

The preliminary music to a wedding for example might include songs such as "My Way" (Sinatra version) or "The Shadow of your Smile" and "My Funny Valentine". "All of Me" by John Legend, "My Heart Will Go On” from Titanic and "Hallelujah" by Leonard Cohen are in my current music repertoire as well.

I love the classical world too and am happy to perform the music of Bach, Vivaldi, Beethoven and the romantic composers such as Saint-Saens, Holst and Elgar.

For the wedding service itself I love playing “Jesu, Joy of Man's Desiring" by Bach and "Canon" by Pachelbel (solo version) as well as the "Wedding March" by Mendelssohn. Selections from Water Music and Fireworks by Handel add a nice finish as well.
I can play Celtic-themed music calling upon songs from the Irish and Welsh traditions.

Julia was shaped as a cellist by her Bachelor of Music from Indiana University and her Master of Music from Ohio University both in cello performance.
She has had a career of 20+ as an active cellist, recording musician, show player, teacher, symphony and chamber player. Highlights include recording for the "Nashville String Machine" on such albums as Winona, Tim McGraw, George Strait Casting Crowns and the Canadian Tenors. Julia has recorded on many video game scoring soundtracks including but not limited to "The Last of Us" and "Ratchet and Clank". She has toured with Bocelli, Amy Grant and Vince Gill, played on the Grammy nominations for "Fun." and with the Dove Awards. She played on the videos of Vince Gill, Ty Herndon and Trisha Yearwood.
Julia has performed with Lady A, Celtic Woman, Alison Krauss, Ricky Skaggs, Rod Stewart, Neil Young and with Ray Price at the Grand Ole Opry.
Julia was principal cellist for the San Diego Musical Theatre and the Broadway shows at TPAC (Nashville) playing Lion King, Pippin, West Side Story and Mary Poppins to name a few. As a member of the Nashville Chamber Orchestra (NCO) she played at the Bonnaroo Music Festival for Trey Anastasio of “Phish”. With the same orchestra among others she performed and/or recorded with Phil Keaggy, Turtle Island String Quartet, Darrell Scott, Traci Silverman, John Jorgenson and Raul Malo.

I come with my instrument, an iPad and dressed formally in black. I can amplify but access to power is required.
I can also offer a second player such as violin to play popular and/or classical duos if you want more.
