I am Steve Minkin, a full-time professional square dance caller who has led over 10, 000 dances in the past 37 years. I do traditional and modern squares, circle mixers, line dances, novelty dances, and have a large and eclectic DJ collection. I can also emcee your event. I usually work with the music from my laptop, but there are several excellent bands that I have worked regularly with over the years and are available for an additional fee. I love calling for brand new beginners, and work with children and schools more than any caller in the world. My home program consists of five weekly club nights in Sonoma and Marin Counties, but my passion is introducing square dancing to beginners.
Everyone had a great time, definitely an enjoyable experience and very easy to follow.
Steve was amazing. He handled everything, was on time and even brought his own equipment. While the crowd was still getting settled, he was patient and waited until the bride and groom got ready to start line dancing.
He was so fun and played some great music!
Steve was an absolute blast to have at our wedding! He was able to accommodate all of our needs and was very flexible with whatever we threw his way. Our guests really enjoyed all of the songs he called, along with the dj set. We would absolutely hire him again for any group gathering we plan to have in the future!
Steve Meiqun is the real deal. He was timely, responsive, flexible, and a true leader. He read the crowd, took breaks when we needed it, and got the whole group dancing. We will not soon forget this memorable time. Thanks Steve, you’re the best!
