About
Hi, my name is Dr. Marissa Jablonski, and I am an environmental engineer, advisor, and educator. 16 years ago I experienced the impact that an environmental champion can have on increasing the sustainability of the people they associate with (family, workplace, community). It helped me see how much power we as individuals have to influence behavior change around us. I took this knowledge and applied it as a leader throughout my career in projects all over the world. I now know firsthand what it’s like to make large behavior change (reduce single-use plastic usage by 6 million pieces per year, permanently), and this is why I speak to marketing and sales teams in luxury hotels about how to leverage eco-actions and stand out from competitors.
My goal is to motivate people to learn their power as an individual and part of a team so that they can help their company message to, attract and serve more customers with their sustainable eco-actions.
When I am not speaking you can find me walking my dog on the shores of Lake Michigan. I look forward to connecting and being a part of your next event so that, together we can stand in our power and work with Planet Earth.
Additional Booking Notes
In order to ensure the best possible speaking experience for the meeting planner and audience, a Speaker Rider is being provided to ensure everyone is on the same page.
MICROPHONE REQUIREMENTS – Speaker’s preferred microphone in order of preference is:
Hands free microphone (lapel or country-man mic)
Wireless Handheld
Handheld microphone with at least 30 feet of cord
Speaker also requests that there is a technical rehearsal/sound system check prior to the event.
STAGE / LIGHTING REQUIREMENTS – Speaker’s preference of stage set-up is:
Open and empty, no podium, and house lights on enough to see the audience from the stage.
SEATING ARRANGEMENTS - This may be a little trickier to achieve. Please know the speaker is making the following suggestions as the best way for an audience to get the most from the experience:
Audience facing towards and as close to the stage as possible, theater style with no seats behind or to the side of stage.
Room where the acoustics are the best. Please avoid gymnasiums or outdoor venues unless they are wired appropriately for sound.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS - Other requirements include:
Speaker will email introduction, bio and headshot with contract to event planner.
Speaker does not use single use plastic and will bring their own water. If food or drink are to be at the event, the speaker asks that everything be served on washable/reusable containers. If single-use items are used, they need to be compostable and the speaker requests to see the contract signed with the composting company that will be taking the plates/cups/utensils to become soil.
The speaker is a firm believer that a packed house is the best size audience for maximum effectiveness for the requested presentation.
Please know that the speaker’s goal is to be easy to work with, and to also provide the client with the optimal way for the speaker to make the client successful.
The speaker asks that these requirements/rider be shared with the appropriate parties (tech crew, planning committee, etc.) in order to produce the highest quality experience for the audience.
