Stanley & Grimm is a celebration of traditional music through old and new interpretations of jigs, reels, and songs played with lively fiddle, guitar and voice. Fiddler Nicole Engstrom and Singer/Guitarist Sean Brennan create a musical journey through a bounty of fiddle tunes and ballads of all origins as well as modern tunes and songs they have composed.
Nikki has delighted audiences for over two decades with her spirited and sensitive playing. Through a broad range of fiddle music from old and new sets of jigs and reels to slow airs, with Sean's warm vocals and rhythmic guitar, Stanley & Grimm capture the essence and energy of great traditional music.
We booked Stanley & Grimm for our wedding welcome party at a restaurant in Dennis. I had listened to a few of their recordings online, they were quick and responsive, easy to book, and needed very little direction from me. On the day of the event, they set up quickly and when they started playing, I was completely taken aback. The quality of sound, music selections and vocals were absolutely incredible! They really took our event to the next level and our guests are still commenting on how fantastic the music was. Thank you Stanley & Grimm for making our event so very special.
Nikki brought her fiddle to my mother's memorial service. She played "Margaret's Waltz" to begin the program, and later played "When My Morning Comes Around" as my sister sang.
She was a wonderful addition to this tribute for my mother.
Could not have been a better band for our rehearsal dinner with relatives from County Mayo.
Celtic Musicians Stanley & Grimm provided an amazing performance for our St. Patrick's Luncheon here at the Carver COA. From classic sing-alongs to a tearful "Danny Boy", even a modern mash-up with a Celtic twist, there was something for everyone. Their talent and engagement enthralled everyone in attendance with with foot-stomping fun. Rave reviews all around! We hope to book them again!
Stanley and Grimm were the perfect addition to our wedding day, they performed at both the ceremony and reception and were excellent to work with!
S&G provided perfect entertainment for our lunch party and they were a pleasure to work with.
Stanley & Grimm were excellent. Their music is fantastic and was exactly what we wanted for our party. Everyone was so happy to have a live band and really enjoyed the performance.
Response from Stanley & Grimm:
Thank you Nora! We loved all the dancing at the end. ❤️🎶🎶🎶
Stanley & Grimm were hired to play for my father's 70th birthday party in a medium sized yard that hosted about 50 guests. They were very professional, entertaining, & open to song requests. They exhibited great musical craftsmanship & played a beautiful selection of traditional Irish music, enhanced by Nikki's fiddle playing & Sean's voice. I highly recommend!
Sean and Nikki performed at my mother’s funeral service in South Boston in February. And at the reception following. They added a special element to the service and their music was beautifully perfect—just gorgeous. With outstanding musicianship, they both were so professional and empathetic at the same time. I would highly recommend anyone booking them for an event. I’m an event planner and book talent all the time for my events and they far exceeded my expectations. As they say in Ireland, a million thanks, to them both.
Fantastic music!!
I had Nikki and Sean come and play for my cousin's 90th birthday party at Borsari Gallery in Dennis, MA. My cousin loves Ireland and has been there many times thus we thought having Irish music for her 90th birthday would be something she as well as the guests would enjoy. Our choice of hiring Stanley & Grimm was the right one. Our birthday celebration was comprised of young and old and a lot of die hard Irish folks, many who have been to Ireland. Nikki asked if there were any songs we wanted to hear so we sent her a list we thought my cousin would like to hear. They played a variety of songs/tunes which were a nice mix of their own music and the songs we requested. Nikki is an awesome violinist and Sean is a great guitarist with a wonderful voice.
They were wonderful to work with in regards to planning the event. They contacted the owner of the venue prior to the party as we had requested, they showed up on time, and were a very reasonable price.
Everyone had a fantastic time! Enjoyed wonderful music!
In summary, you can't go wrong hiring Stanley & Grimm for an event. You will love their music!
I would hire them again!!! They were AWESOME!
Stanley & Grimm played at my Mom's 90th birthday party. It was a great family day, my mom was dancing all afternoon! Thank you!
Response from Stanley & Grimm:
Thank you for having us as a part of your mother’s big day!! May we all be dancing like that when we are 90! ❤️🎶🎻
We booked Stanley & Grimm for a 90th Birthday party. The birthday girl was beyond happy with her surprise and continued throughout the evening to say that Sean and Nikki had made the party. Not only were they able to play all of her favorites, but they made sure to throw some additional traditional songs in there too. We will definitely be looking to book them again for another party!
This group is marvelous! The music at my wedding was perfection. Lively and upbeat. The songs they picked matched the happy and jovial atmosphere wonderfully. One of the violinist's learned the melody to my favorite song to walk down the aisle to. They were reasonably priced and did both the ceremony and cocktail hour. All around, a terrific experience.
Stanley and Grimm were so easy to work with and very professional. They were a hit at my wedding ceremony and cocktail hour with their Irish/Scottish traditional music. They are very talented and I would hire them again.
