Hello! Sunny days, blue skies, and impossibly clear water. Warm nights, bright lights, and carefree vibes. Nothing evokes the Caribbean like the music of the Steel Pan.
Sometimes booking entertainment can be a real drag – not carefree at all. Let me take the hassle out of bringing the sounds of vacation to you: in my profile you'll find videos, pictures, and audio to show how I'll entertain your guests. I want you to feel completely comfortable when you book me that you can relax, sit back and know that I've got the music covered.

What to Expect
You will get a professional who communicates in a clear and timely manner, and who shows up on time, with professional equipment. I will play the music that we agree upon and will play for the agreed upon amount of time. I have a song list that includes several island classics as well as reggae, calypso, jazz, pop music and more.
About
Rick Palese earned his PhD in Music and Human Learning from The University of Texas at Austin, and BMEd and MMEd degrees in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music in Chicago, IL. He resides in the Austin, Texas area and performs on the steel pan and drum set regularly.

Influences & Inspiration
I draw inspiration for my solo performance from traditional pan players of Trinidad/Tobago as well as contemporary panists and afro-carribean artists.
Setup Requirements
I provide all needed equipment including a PA system, cables, instrument and accessories. My PA system can easily interface with a house PA if needed. I need power and a flat surface, and shade to perform.
