STEPH GREEN:
Unique, talented, and inspiring—at only 21 years old, Steph Green has already awed audiences of thousands of people across the United States and Europe.
Steph was born in Wales, United Kingdom, where it is said that music roams the mountains and where stars such as Tom Jones and Catherine Zeta Jones have emerged. Steph’s family will joke that she was born with a microphone in her hand as she’s been singing since she first learned how to speak.
Not long after her fourth birthday, she moved with her family to London, England where she grew up. Her first public performance was in Ireland at a wedding where she sang solo in front of an audience of 500 at only nine years old. She was also involved with multiple childrens talent agencies where she was cast in television, film, catalog modeling, and commercial roles. Steph continued performing numerous times throughout her early teenage years on cruise ships and at local theatres.
In 2007, Steph moved to Florida to fulfill her dream and further her career as a successful singer/songwriter. Since then, her singing repertoire and accomplishments have only been growing. At just 17 years old, out of 400 contestants, Steph won the singer/songwriter of the year award at the AMTC nationwide talent convention. In addition to this, she proudly took home another award for acting out a short self-written monologue, ‘Darkness Falls on the Streets of London’. Since then, Steph has performed at various venues throughout Central Florida and opened for popular artists such as Kevin Max, formerly of DC Talk. In early 2010, Steph traveled to Portland, Oregon to work with Dave Lubben (the singer/songwriter who also produced for the band Kutless). By November, her debut album ‘Hello Stranger’ was released.
Steph’s passion is also in writing, she has written over a hundred songs, numerous poems, and she is currently working on her first novel. Her work has won awards in magazines such as ‘The Alchemist’, and she has frequently been recognized for her skills in creative writing through competitions and most recently for her freelance work as a creative writer for a technological company. Steph attended the University Of Central Florida where she obtained a Bachelors degree in Creative Writing and a minor in Music. Steph has earned a place on the honor roll and the Deans List for her consistent hard work and high grades.
Steph is inspired by the world around her and by her favorite artists and writers, such as Tyrone Wells, Holly Williams, The Arctic Monkeys and Fleetwood Mac. Steph claims her music collection is ‘eclectic’. Her favorite song is ‘Beautiful’ by Wayne Brady and Jim Brickman. Steph believes that music is the harmony of life and that words can be very powerful.
Steph is currently working with Michael Zdanowicz, KDS Music studios and Coast 3 Entertainment, on a new EP that has allowed her to explore her love for country, acoustic and folk music. She takes it back to the basics in these heartfelt, natural songs that were inspired by her own life experiences and other artists such as Keith Urban. The EP will be released in August 2012. Steph is ready to continue singing her way to success, and listening to the words of her mind, the drumbeat of her heart and the melody of her soul.
