Stephanie Bennett, Harpist

Harpist Stephanie Bennett has performed in the United States, Japan, Australia, Brazil, Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Costa Rica, Uruguay, Panama, France and Switzerland, including solo harp performances of her own compositions at the Montreux Jazz Festival (Switzerland), and as a guest artist at the International Music Seminars in Montpelier, France.

For performing at events (such as weddings, dinner parties, holiday parties, receptions, funerals), Stephanie can play solo harp (full-sized, golden pedal harp); solo Celtic harp; or can add additional musicians for beautiful ensembles such as harp & flute; harp, flute & cello; or harp, flute, violin and cello!

Stephanie plays harp on soundtracks for movies and television, and plays harp on recordings by many other artists. She is the harpist on the Album of the Year Grammy® winning recordings by Adele and by Beck. She has also recorded with Sir Paul McCartney, Josh Groban, Lee Ann Rimes, the Dixie Chicks, Linda Ronstadt, Everlast, Good Charlotte, Miyuki Nakajima, and Ray Conniff.

She has also played harp onscreen in television, movies and music videos, including THE VOICE, AMERICAN IDOL, DANCING WITH THE STARS, ELLEN, Celine Dion's CHRISTMAS SPECIAL, music videos including Trisha Yearwood and Aerosmith, and television series including BONES and MURPHY BROWN.

Stephanie Bennett began studying the harp as a junior high school student, after having studied some guitar and piano as a child. She graduated from the University of Michigan School of Music as a Harp Performance major. While in college she also began creating her own arrangements of popular music. She continued her music studies in Los Angeles at the Dick Grove School of Music and at UCLA Extension, with courses in Advanced Modern Harmony and Arranging. She was the first prize winner in the second Salvi International Competition of Jazz & Pop Harp held in Santa Barbara, California.
