Stephanie was a dream to work with. Her music is so versatile and she even knew Bollywood. She was the perfect musician for my Bridgerton themed bridal shower.

Stephanie was our violinist for our fall 2024 wedding ceremony and cocktail hour in Shenandoah National Park. She is experienced and professional, and took on two new songs not in her portfolio, including Test Drive (How to Train Your Dragon). I've worked with a lot of musicians in my prior professional life and am happy to report that she is a lot more organized than many I've worked with (which is to say, she is quite organized). We would both recommend her without hesitation for whatever event you're thinking of hiring her for.

We were absolutely thrilled with Stephanie's performance at our wedding. She played during our processional, recessional, and cocktail hour, and the music was incredible. For the ceremony, Stephanie created the perfect atmosphere—elegant, serene, and heartfelt. Walking down the aisle was one of the most memorable moments of our day.

During the cocktail hour, Stephanie shifted into more upbeat songs, setting a fun and sophisticated tone for the reception. We decided fairly late in wedding planning that we wanted a violinist for our ceremony and luckily were referred to Stephanie! She was responsive, helpful, and had so many songs to choose from. We loved that she gave us the option to pick songs that weren't on her list. But honestly, her list is so extensive that it wasn't necessary. Our ceremony was beautiful and we are so grateful Stephanie was a part of our day.

She was on time, looked so elegant and everyone enjoyed her. I was so busy running around I barely could give her any direction at all. But she set up and played and ran with it. Classy music and it was a perfect touch.

I contacted her to play for the repast after my father’s memorial service… she responded immediately, asked me for a few details, quoted me a very reasonable rate, and emailed me a contract within minutes - helping me easily check something very important off of my to do list during an extremely difficult time.
When my family and I arrived at home after the service Stephanie was all set up and started playing exactly at our agreed upon time - and it could not have been more perfect! She captured the right mood and volume for the occasion and walked throughout the space while she played which our guests especially loved. We hired singers and strings to perform during our masquerade ball, and I can say without a doubt, she Absolutely nailed the vision we had!! She even went so far as to get a baroque wig and mask to pair with her gorgeous outfit and amazing lit-up violin. She was by far my favorite feature! I hosted an anniversary party for my small business. It was a calculated choice to go with live music. I’m a medical student and I hired Stephanie to play the violin for my piece in an annual talent show put on by the medical students. Prior to the show, I expressed to Stephanie that I would need a rehearsal with her (as it can be very difficult to dance to live music), and she was very gracious in working around both my busy schedule and her many bookings to accommodate this request. On the night of the show, I was very anxious and there was a lot going on around us. Stephanie helped calm me down so that I would be in the right headspace to perform, which went beyond her job description and really just speaks to the kind of person that she is. Stephanie’s violin playing really made my piece, and it was such a major hit that it completely stole the show!!

For our backyard wedding, we had Christine from Singers and Strings perform for our ceremony and cocktail hour (while we also took photographs). She was early to set up, played our requested and other songs beautifully, and there weren't any issues (which is especially a relief when you are the bride like I was!) With respect to finding a violinist, I worked with the owner of the company Stephanie who was responsive and had a great attitude. You may find that some event vendors (not just musicians) are not responsive or are not enjoyable to work with but she was great and I am very appreciative of that. Stephanie and the Singers and Strings Events were a dream to work with from day one. I hired Stephanie for my retirement reception after hearing her perform at a friends party. I am thoroughly impressed with her ability to play a wide variety of songs and different arrangements. What I didn’t expect was for Stephanie to engage as she did with my guests of all ages; ranging from 4 to 80 years old. She was so impressive that my son has now taking viola lessons. It took me many weeks to locate a violinist that was familiar with church hymns/songs/music and who would be available for the date of the service. I even tried the Shenandoah Conservancy. It was an unusual request, a Memorial Service in an outdoor chapel and cemetery at the Holy Cross Abbey. I was fortunate to finally be contacted by Ms. Mathias. Early-on I provided Ms. Mathias with a repertoire of eleven songs some of which she admitted she was not familiar with BUT she promptly undertook learning and practicing them. We worked together on integrating them into the Program and coordinating the music with the prayers/service. Ms. Mathias rendered an outstanding performance. Many guests indicated how pleased they were with the music.

Stephanie was able to play all the songs requested and more. She definitely exceeded our expectations! Would highly recommend her for any special event.

I'm not sure where to even begin with my review. Stephanie did an incredible job playing the violin, and then in the evening saved our music plans by letting us use her speaker equipment (ours stopped working), and stayed an additional 2 hours so we could have music going. We cannot thank her enough for savings our music plans for the evening, and for being so kind with her time and last minute adjustment.

Stephanie was absolutely amazing! Every single guest at our wedding just had nothing but wonderful things to say about her. I snuck a peek of the wedding party walking down the aisle first just so I could hear her play. Then once the doors opened and she started playing A Thousand Years as I walked down the aisle towards my groom, it was all I could do not to break down crying. I know I didn't get a chance to speak with you because we were swept right into a limo after the ceremony, but thank you so much for playing and gracing our guests with your talent. I will remember it forever!

Stephanie was a special part of my very special day. She played the acoustic violin for my guests as they arrived, and throughout my wedding ceremony. I wasn't certain what songs I wanted played during the ceremony, but she was nice enough to give me great guidance to help my now-husband and I choose, and then learned how to play the exact songs we wanted! She was so pleasant, organized, and easy to work with leading up the event, and her performance was so perfect and a beautiful, elegant part of my day.

Stephanie did an Amazing job being the background violinist for our son’s baptism ceremony and the music for the brunch reception afterwards. Hiring Stephanie for my wedding was probably one of the best vendor decisions I made while planning! Everyone came up to my husband and I and told us how wonderful she was. I, personally, was Floored by per performance. She covered every song I requested, and so exquisitely, that she made me want to take violin lessons myself! I should also mention that she was slightly unwell the day of our reception, but there was no way you could tell from how fantastically she played and how professionally she presented herself. Stephanie was both a consummate professional and a brilliant musician. Unfortunately for us, the Music Director at the church where my mother's funeral mass took place, hijacked the planned music and insisted on playing the organ on every single one of Stephanie's songs. She was very respectful of the church, which I understood. In hindsight, I wish we had held my mother's mass at another church, so we could have heard more of Stephanie's music.

Talented musician, professional presence, and attuned to audience response — overall terrific experience. Two personal highlights ... In addition to classical pieces and some other soft tunes, Stephanie engaged the little kids at our family reunion event with some Disney upon request, which made it even more fun for the kids. And, the next day, my great aunt, an avid classical music fan with a critical ear, expressed how much she enjoyed the music — said it made the event even more special. Thank you, Stephanie!
