As an active reggae band on the rise, Strange Brew bridges the gap of traditional reggae and energetic appeal. They have played alongside The Original Wailers, Steel Pulse, & Through The Roots (San Diego) and are currently having their album mixed by a Grammy Nominated Engineer.
Strange Brew plays renditions of Bob Marley, Sublime, Dirty Heads, Magic!, Tom Petty, & The Doors with their own originals mixed in. They play up to 3 hours and can pre-rehearse 2 free song requests per gig. Whether you intend to keep the dance floor moving or prefer background music, they'll love to accommodate whatever your event needs.
Strange Brew were fabulous both on and off the stage. They were so helpful in navigating the logistics in the limited space in my garden and kindly and respectful in all matters. After looking at A LOT of bands on line on many different sites, my daughter agreed with me that Strange Brew were the best and would be perfect for her 16th birthday party. Their flawless and vibrant set includes well known favorites along with their own outstanding catchy and memorable original songs that stood up and out amongst their exciting set. Joyful and groovy, every single teen and Mom were dancing. I can highly recommend Strange Brew for any party or gathering. We absolutely loved them. They are a terrific band and brought their A game to our event helping to make it a truly magical and memorable party.
What a great vibe these guys had .
We had a house party just so we could have them come and play. Soulful performance by each of them. They played until the cops came and they got down lower and kept playing till the end. We plan on having them back with their fountain guitarist remember next time. I believe that night they acquired 30 new fans. The bass player tried to give us some money back since the show was cut short but we refused. Good character move. Definitely welcome in our home again
I had a party to celebrate my recovery from a bad accident and decided to hire Strange Brew to play. Wow did they deliver! So many people raved about them and made a point to ask me about them. The general consensus was, "Wow, they are fantastic." They are all so talented and Ethan is a charismatic and extraordinary singer. Their original songs already sound like hits. I look forward to hearing them again and buying their music. LOVE THEM!

Busking on the Venice beach boardwalk isn't the first place that comes to mind when bands think of a place to practice... But it was where Strange Brew perfected their performance and started to get noticed. Hailing out of Los Angeles, Strange Brew is comprised of a self producing & recording trio bringing together an eclectic blend of reggae and hip-hop. Experimental synths mixed with hard hitting bass create a truly unique and vibrant sound. The band came together after touring with other groups to form this harmonious vibe. Their first single, “Catch a Feeling” showcases a catchy blend of different genres - creating an infectious summer sound.
