Overview
Finally, a group that combines the elegance and ambiance of the classical world with the upbeat and stylish fun of the modern era! We are String Theory Chamber Ensemble, Chicago’s most popular string group. We thoroughly analyzed the best combination of instruments for weddings, parties and events, and after careful consideration we discovered that perfect ensemble – two violins and piano! The piano adds and depth, richness and percussive aspect to the music that cannot be matched by the cello and viola of the traditional quartet. View our videos to see this for yourself. Unfortunately due to the excitement of the ceremony, barely heard the music. Wished it was louder but it might have been the room acoustics. I would definitely hired them again as guests loved the music and many sang along. Wish I had a moment to have just and listened. Can’t wait for the video! Thank you for coming out in all that rain!
Wedding Band
We had such a special night with Steve (piano) & Adrien (violin) for our step moms 70th birthday. What an incredible set up - they are so talented. They are a well-rounded team, able to play all the hits and classical. Thank you for such a magical day.

Thank you, Julia! We had such a great time with you and your lovely family. Happy Birthday, again, to your mom, and all the best :)
They were incredibly responsive the whole process leading up, and were prepared to convey their needs when it came time for make our final arrangements with the venue.
We had 3 songs for them to play in the ceremony, and they nailed the transitions in the procession and everything sounded beautiful.
And then they really classed up the cocktail hour, playing a beautiful collection of contemporary songs that we were able to pick from their repertoire.
Top notch experience, could not recommend enough.

Lovely people. Steve is the point man, communicates well. Band showed up on-time and prepared. The Flower Duet was absolutely gorgeous! The groom was very moved by Time After Time. Beautiful performance! We will be hiring them again!

Thank you, Jennifer! We had a wonderful time, can't wait to work together again :)
The guest of honor is a classical trained musician. There were adults and kids at the party who are not familiar with classical music. They were able to weave the night together with a blend of music for everyone. I received several compliments on their behalf. Highly recommended.

I booked the String Theory Chamber Ensemble for my grandmother's funeral service. When booking they were very empathic and easy to work with. They are were able to bring a portable piano and their equipment. I was very happy with their performance. They played beautifully and really added a nice touch to the service

These musicians made our wedding so special! We received SO many compliments on the great mix of genres and quality of the music. We were looking for a string quartet, but this group had no reviews, so were were wary. But after Steve pointed us to String Theory's many yelp reviews, we hired them. Definitely the right choice, and we plan to use them again in the future. Recommended...
