Upon initial contact for services, I aim to schedule a meeting with you either in person or online to further discuss your event needs. This is a great time to tell me the ins and outs of your event. For example, how many microphones will be needed? Will the venue be providing any equipment? What does the schedule for the day of the event look like?
From there, we can schedule additional meetings if you deem it necessary. Otherwise, a simple text or email communication regarding updates to the event will do just fine.
I have my own set of equipment that I bring as well, so it's imperative for me to know what all I should bring to the event. Of course, last minute event changes and additions happen, but the more details the better!
The day of the event, I will arrive as early as possible to get acquainted with the venue, audio system, and equipment on site. A pre-typed sound script would be a huge plus if you already have this available. If not, I am more than happy to work with you to create one so that I know when the cues are throughout the event.
I am a musician who believes that creating music is my true purpose in life. With classical training as my foundation, I explore various genres that deeply touch my soul. I aim to provide a cathartic experience to those who traverse through my musical catalogue.
I draw inspiration from a multitude of musical influences, beginning with my Uncle, Gerald Lloyd, who ignited my passion for music and continues to inspire me to this day. I also draw inspiration from my Grandfather, Joe Willie Smith, who has had a profound impact on my musical journey. My Grandfather is an exceptionally talented individual who crafts his own instruments, garnering high praise from the public. I feel a great sense of honor in carrying on the rich musical legacy that permeates my family.
My musical journey started with piano and choir in 3rd grade, planting a seed that would flower into a wonderful exploration of music. During high school, my musical journey continued as I delved into concert band, marching band, and piano simultaneously. Although I had the opportunity to pursue my passion for music at the School of Music of NAU (Northern Arizona University), I made a different choice and studied Technical Theatre, which wasn't as close to my heart. However, my love for music eventually guided me back to my true calling. I dabbled in various online music production courses here and there, however, one of my best friends Isaiah Reed reignited my passion for music by showing me his musical catalogue in Garageband. From there, I decided to commit to music production and soon found out that I not only needed something more powerful, but also more education on how DAWs worked. That's when I decided to pursue a certificate in Audio Arts from Full Sail University. I can confidently say that attending Full Sail helped me achieve my goals to understand the ins and outs of DAWs all while providing a plethora of resources for me to utilize throughout my life!
On top of music production, I also provide audio support for live events. I've had the pleasure of working with a local concert band called Desert Overture Wind Symphony a few times, as well as a local jazz band called Desert City Jazz. I can provide audio support for live mixing, microphone setup for vocals and instruments, monitor setup, closed captioning, or anything else audio related!
It's preferable that the venue have some type of integrated sound system with a mics, speakers, and a mixing console. I have some basic equipment I can provide, but can also work with any additional equipment provided.
